    Best of the Series

Shadow of the Moon is what i think the best book of the series. You don't really need to read the whole series to understand this book either but if you like this one your sure to like the others. It is about a girl named Hayden who has runaway from the dark guardians(werewolfs that have sworn to protect the people). She ran away because of an evil thing called the havester who is going to kill her. The harvester will collect her soul when she has her first transformation then keep her soul and it would never rest in peace just like he did with all the other ones. Hayden is not a normal shifter(werewolf) she can sense other's emtions too and sometimes the emtions almost over power her in a way she feels like she is in the situation herself. She is also going to have her full moon that makes it possible for her to shift afterward the first shift is uncontraled by her and she must have a mate or else she will die and considering she is alsoo being hunted by the harvester is not a plus. She meets a shifter named Daniel who is supposed to bring her back to the guardians and be her mate for her fist transformation but there is someting strange about him like she can sense every shifters emtions but his. And she has never seen him shift. What could she be hiding from her? This book is a good romance book.

    Loved it

**spoiler alert** This book again blew me away. It was so intense, I even got angry, had to put the book down then come back to it later. Hayden is curse with feeling every ones emotions. Sometimes she needs to leave in order to make her feel better. She meets Daniel who is a new arrival at their sanctuary. Daniel is dark and mysterious and is holding a secret.

Hayden and Daniel have an instant connection. During this time, Hayden begins to wonder where he really came from and if he is who he says he is. She doesn't see him shift. In she never does. At first she thought he was human and can't shift at all. Then she finds out what he really is.

Hayden is being chase by a Harvester. A nasty creature bent on eating her. She turns to help from Daniel, who seems to know a lot about these things. During their time of getting to know each other, Daniel finally grows comfortable enough to tell her his secret. He is not a werewolf but a panther! Hayden is surprised by this knowledge. She finds out that Daniel's people and family have been wiped out by Harvesters and came to the shifter sanctuary to find a way to kill it. His mother told him to go there for help. Daniel thought it was a place for all shifters, not just werewolf.

They run into more drama and this is were Hayden really ticked me off. She betrayed him! In the moment that Daniel needed her the most, in order to save her own butt she reveals to the consul that Daniel is not only who he says he is but a panther! Daniel is immediately hurt and angry at her betrayal. The council has no other choice but to lock Daniel up seeing that he deceive them all. And what does Hayden do? Instead of sticking up for the guy she supposedly loves she just lets them take him away as if he was really going to hurt them. UGH!!

Oh and this part gets me even more angry. In the end, being the nice guy Daniel is. He forgives her and takes her back. After she betrayed him, she is immediately almost killed by the Harvester. Daniel hears her cries, breaks out of the cage, goes after to save her. Let me tell you, if it was me, I would have left her there. She can save herself! But no, Daniel rushes out, save her and forgives her.

Sigh, this was a great book. I loves the twist to the plot, the betrayal thing totally got me, let me tell ya. But this book was a great read, easy and fast. I would really like another shifter book to come out soon. There was some underage drinking in the book. Other than that, the book was clean.

    Shadow of the Moon

In the fourth installment of Rachel Hawthorne's Dark Guardians series, we meet Hayden, an empathetic werewolf who can hear others feelings. A mysterious beast arrives in Wolford, the Shifters' beloved safe haven, and kills a fellow Dark Guardian. He also promises to return on Hayden's first full moon to take her as well. So Hayden runs away. But as her full moon approaches she must decide to accept this dark, handsome guy who has volunteered to be her mate or risk dying by going through the transformation alone. While dealing with the threat to her life and her strange, prying ability.

The Good: Rachel Hawthorne did another fantastic job of showing us the love and danger in the Dark Guardian's world. Though each of her novels are similar, they are also surprisingly unique. Hayden provided us with new look on the werewolf community just as the other main characters did in previous books. I enjoyed the suspense that kept building throughout the book. And Hawthorne's characters, both main and minor, have such glowing, refreshing personalities. The best part about her novel is the romance. She combines the perfect balance of conflict and fluffiness to give us a dynamic, interesting story.

The Bad: This novel, like the others, leaves a lot to be desired in the conflict aspect. When the fighting scenes come around they are a bit uneventful and seem to be over very quickly. Hawthorne also makes decisions for her characters that I find unrealistic, in spite of the paranormal aspect.

Hayden is different from the rest of the werewolf shifter pack. She has the ability to sense powerful feelings from her pack around her. She can't see the future or know who experiences the feelings, but her gift torments her.

She's spent most of her childhood away from her home at boarding school where she can blend with humans and be at peace. However, the time of her changing draws near, and she must return home to chose a mate. Hayden has no desire to do so - to become so close to one person would make her head explode.

She creeps away one night after she's threatened by a creature who steals souls. Content working for a coffeehouse on a mountain, she knows the elders will send someone for her. She never expected Daniel, and she certainly never expected to care for him...

The fourth book in the DARK GUARDIAN series is still addicting. The dark paranormal romance hits the mark. It's full of danger, romance, and friendship.

This is the fourth book in the Dark Guardian series is still addicting. I love how each book is from a different perspective in the pack. While the threat of discovery wrapped up from the previous three books, there's still plenty of danger in a new villain. Plus there's a budding romance, and friendship drama.

I read the series and I really enjoyed them all. I could not put them down. I was really surprised to see that she was adding another book to the series, but really excited to pick it up and read it. I am interested to see how its going to tie with the other three books. I do recommend that you pick it up too and read it.
