Horror and history wrapped into one. Well written and action packed it kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time (some of the mystic talk towards the end slowed it down but it wasn’t for long). If you’re looking for a gore filled thriller this is right up your alley.

Terrifying Historical War Adventure Satisfies on All Fronts

In Brian Moreland’s Shadows in the Mist, expertly researched military history meets slam-bam combat adventure and visceral terror. The intriguing premise is that Hitler’s Nazis faced their darkest days—the impending invasion by the Allies—by bringing to life a supernatural force of virtually unstoppable warriors. American lieutenant Chambers and his ragtag band of platoon survivors must team up with a mysterious international special forces unit to confront and try to survive this unearthly force in Germany’s real-life bloody Hurtgen Forest campaign.

Moreland’s book is a fast-paced read that’s sure to be of as much interest to World War II readers as it is to horror fans.

Davis Searls is the author of Bloodthirst in Babylon.

    A rip-roaring tale of terror.

A slow build up turns into a frantic pace in this fiendishly dark World War II horror story. After the introductions, the action focuses on Jack Chambers leader of the X-2--a group of crack commandos sent behind enemy lines with instructions intercept and capture a deadly Nazi weapon. However, after moving through a mist-shrouded forest, they soon realize there is something far more nefarious at work. An ancient power, rooted in the occult is stalking them after slaughtering most of the villagers from the small town of Reichskuhl. Bloody combat, intense scenes of relentless predators, and dark, shadowy secrets highlight this novel. Highly recommended!

    A Spellbinding Supernatural Thriller

1944 Germany: World War II is beginning to take a fateful turn for the worse for the Nazi regime. Allied forces are closing in on the Third Reich, and victory is all but assured in the global crusade against tyranny; however, one unfortunate Allied platoon will soon wage a climactic battle against a supernatural foe far more sinister than anything they could ever imagine - and it's up to the courageous descendant of one of the platoon's soldiers to prevent the truth of their legacy from being lost forever...

With a perfect mix of mystery and suspense, Shadows In The Mist is a riveting, fast-paced thriller. In his debut instant classic, author Brian Moreland has crafted an imaginative page-turner, complete with nonstop action and seamless transitions. Inspired by true events, Shadows takes readers into the heart of real battle, but not without a surprising series of clever twists and turns along the way. Coming in at just over 350 pages, Shadows reads like a novella half its size as Moreland masterfully interweaves fact and fiction into a vivid, breathtaking tapestry.

A standout debut from a fast-rising literary star, Shadows In The Mist is a spellbinding supernatural thriller not to be missed.

Surprising Thriller You Cant Put Down

I found the basis of the story extremely compelling and very interesting. Each time I thought I knew where it was going, it would take a new diabolical twist. And beginning the story in the past, like Clive Cussler has done with his books, added to the mystery of where and how it would all end.

    Great Read

I started this book on a Tuesday and finished it by Thursday night. It was so interesting how the author can describe in detail using the reader's five senses. Brian was able to evoke these senses creating a movie in my head. I actually had my heart rate increase at some of the scenes in the book. This was the first sci-fi book I have actually started and finished, and surprisingly enough I was even routing for some of the characters such as Colonel Chambers and the Guardian. I would recommend this book to everyone.

    Exciting and Thrilling

This book was wonderfully composed by the author. It not only kept me interested for the full 400 or so pages, but the details and the characters were amazing.

    Great book!!!

Brian¿s words grab you and put you right in the thick of the battle. You can almost smell the air and feel the fear. The combination of war and the supernatural was integrally entwined to make for a very good read. I can only hope this is just the first of many more thrillers to come from this talented and imaginative writer.
