Shadows of Prophecy based on 0 ratings. 4 reviews.
I picked this book up because it receives such great review and was sorely disappointed with the book and the series. The author did such a horrible job bringing the characters together. There was no continuity in the plot or correlation between the characters, and the ending was, for lack of a better word, uninspiring. I would not recommend this book to ardent fantasy readers, pick up Sharon Shinn¿s work instead.
Eons ago, the Firstborn Son of the Firstborn King Annuvil, was king of his own city, and loved the Iliduin (mage) Theriel. His brother Ardred loved her as well. The two brothers went to war. Annuvil created the race of the Anari, a peaceful, long-lived species whose magic is to hear voices in the stone which makes them builders. The gods were angry for it was given to them to create the races and as a result Annuvil was punished, an Immortal unable to be harmed forced to walk the world until the second battle with his brother commences.----------------- In the present, the time of prophecy is at hand. Tess Birdsong is the Weaver who the white wolves rally to her side. She has magic more powerful than any other Iliduin and she is determined to work with Annuvil to free the Anari who are slaves of the Bozanari. Fighting forces gather to fight the final battle.------------------ Rachel Lee brings to a grand conclusion her fantasy trilogy with SHADOW¿S DESTINY a work that is full of sword and sorcery romance, epic battle scenes and political intrigue. The growing love between Tess and Archer is obvious to all around them but he is afraid to say the words for he fears she will die in the last battle. Tess overcomes her own demons and works to bring the warring races together. She is a strong powerful woman and readers will love how the tale ends.------------------ Harriet Klausner
I LOVE this series!!!! It's one of the best series I have read in so very very long. Although I did like the first one better, this book was amazing!!!!! Rachel Lee is fabulous!!!
Giri and Ratha are Anari, a long lived race that the Ilduin and the First Born immortal Archer created so that the earth would have one race that turns their backs on war and seeks peace. Sara and Tess are Ilduin women of formidable power much of which they are not aware of. Tom is a seer. These six people journey to the Anari city of Anahar so that Sara and Tess can visit the temple to learn about their power and heritage. --- The rest of the Anari train for war against the Bozandari who conquered and enslaved them now for three generations. The peace loving Anari know they need to fight if they want to preserve their heritage. However, even if the Anari can win against a well trained fighting force, they must contend with the Evil One, who has a very special relationship with Archer. They must defeat this malevolent being because he is gaining more powers through his minion that will eventually enable him break out of his caged exile to reenter the world he was banished from. --- There are six protagonists in this romantic fantasy and the author easily switches view points so readers know what they are thinking and feeling at all times. Sara and Tom are a couple, Archer who feels guilt for what he sets in motion refuses to allow his feelings for Tess to surface and is not at all sure she wants to love an immortal who caused the upcoming catastrophe. Through Tess¿ eyes readers see the horrors of war. Rachel Lee has written a work that has romance, intrigue, graphic battle scenes and awe inspiring acts of bravery. --- Harriet Klausner
