Meet the Author

I've always loved books, especially about monsters and magic, so I started writing. I'm working on a prequel and the next few books in the Others of Edenton series, and I have a head full of stories to share.

I'm a stay at home mother with a wonderful husband who lets me write and write to my hearts content.

The Others of Edenton series continues to get better and better with each book. I loved In Too Deep, then I loved New Beginnings even more, and I can safely say Shadows of the Past is my favorite of all. Following that same pattern, Falling into Placing, coming in December of this year, will likely be even better. What draws me to Rivers' writing is the confident way she delivers her prose. She commits to everything on the page, and her characters are equally never timid. Amethyst is not unlike her preceding heroines, Fallon and Jess, in that she does not take crap from anyone. But she quickly comes into her own personality, as someone who is thoughtful and conscientious. Her hesitation to get involved with Hayden comes for a very good reason, and her fears are not unfounded. Hayden as well shares similarities with Brody and Slater (Rivers loves her strong, sensitive men, and who doesn't?), but then becomes a fully formed individual through his deeper strength and thoughtful nature. Just as with prior books, the two main characters are perfect for each other. One other callout: Rivers gives us a glimpse into the world of Faerie, over 500 years ago, in the prologue. I wasn't sure how this historical flashback would compare to her urban paranormal romance style, but I can confidently tell you: she NAILED it. I would read books and books of her historical fantasy, and hope to see more of it in future books!

Brandy L. Rivers Shadows of the Past Others of Edenton #2 I absolutely love this series, and this book is no exception. Once I started reading, I soon devoured the book from start to finish, and fell in love with Amethyst and Hayden. Despite the instant attraction, Amethyst is trying her best to stay of Hayden, but she really has no choice. The swimming scenes were classic, and I could easily imagine them happening as Amethyst teases Hayden. One thing I do know, the girls in this town have no idea how good they have it! I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

*I received this book from the Author in exchange for an Honest Review* The fourth installment of The Others of Edenton, we continue on with Amethyst's story. This book picks up almost exactly where Shadows Fall ends. An ancient enemy wants Amethyst and no one will let him have it. I really liked the chemistry between Amethyst and Hayden. It was nice to see him take the stick out of his rear and not be such a hard arse. Of course Jess, Fallon, and the others all make several appearances as well. Due to Amethyst being a Nymph, there were a lot more sex scenes in this book than the other three, and Brandy sure got creative with how they were done. The only real problem I had with the story was that it was very anticlimatic. There's this whole build up on the enemy and killing him, that I was hoping there would be a scene like the fight with Malachi. But there wasn't. In fact this Shadow Fae seemed to be the easiest thing to kill. I still loved the story though even with it's lack of a final battle and of course the characters who now sort of feel like friends. I look forward to reading the next installment of this series. I give this book 4 of 5 paws

Just when I thought a series could not get any better, bam! Ms. Brandy does it. I absolutely love this series any who, but OMG I could not put this book down. I actually read the prologue TWICE! The storytelling and history in this chapter was the perfect setup for the rest of the book. I'm hoping that it's a little hint of something to come?!?! Shadows of the Past takes place right after Shadows Fall. Lets just say, that Amethyst doesn't have the best welcoming to Edenton. She is pulled over for speeding and she placed into cuffs and hauled to the police station. And that is where Hayden starts getting soft! I absolutely love Amethyst. She is kind of the complete opposite of Jess and Fallon. It's nice to have a someone who isn't so overpowering all the time. However, I think it does hurt her a little bit because people don't think she can handle her business. Hayden... At first I was like OMG. Please don't let Ame hook up with him. He was kind of a dbag in the first books. Maybe it's because he is the Sheriff, that he comes across as a hard ass or maybe it was me. I did grow to like him as the book progressed and in the end, I love him, like I do all the guys from Edenton. I believe I was the most upset about Preston. My heart broke from him. Please, oh please, write a book for Preston. He needs a HEA. However, Hayden and Ame do make a very good couple. I do love them. So... Ms. Brandy... 5 + stars. Seriously. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book. Paperback please! I think I might have to invent a new rating scale for your books.  *I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion. This is my opinion, my thoughts, my words.

Shadows Beware! Wonderful addition to the Others of Edenton! We get to meet more Edenton characters as we pick up right at the end of the Shadows Fall and Amethyst is driving into town. Dacia goes crazy again - imagine that . This story focus more on the the Fae characters. If you haven't given the Others a try yet - be sure to start at the beginning (with In Too Deep, book #1 or New Beginnings, book #0.5). And now a bit about this story... We got to meet a VERY old Shadow Fae (Izackarus - Zack for short) as he tried to take form in Faerie and is temporarily defeated. Now he has been summoned to earth. As he reeks havoc on Earth he tracks Amethyst to Edenton, but he can't seem to cause as much trouble there. He does try hard though and as Amethyst gets caught speeding by a pissed off werewolf (Zack recently screwed his wife on the hood of a car and he caught them), she is cuffed and dragged into the police station. Cue Sheriff Eyeball (better known as Hayden) and Amethyst's cravings. But she is on a diet - after the mess with Carl, she can't get involved again - right? A few skinny dipping sessions for the nymph water faerie later and she is ready to change her mind...  Give the Others of Edenton a try and see how Amethyst gets out of this mess and what all the "Others" are up to! Favorite passages: - Part of her was scared, but the other part wanted to climb him like a jungle gym and play. - “You’re a goddess, Amethyst. I’m not sure I can live without this.”

I received a complimentary audiobook code from the author in return for an honest review. This is the second book in the Others of Edenton series. I really enjoyed it! Hayden Hunter is a very enigmatic character. I wasn't sure whether I liked him or not when I met him in the first book of the series, In Too Deep. He is extremely taciturn and mysterious, so I was looking forward to getting to know him a little better. He is a powerful Earth Fae, but doesn't seem to use his magic much. Being the Sheriff of the town of Edenton is not an easy job, but he makes it look like it is. He is well respected by the residents and, by the end of the book, I respected him too. When he meets Amethyst, attraction sparks fly. Amethyst Lakes is a Water Nymph. I liked her, but on occasion found myself wanting to shout at her and tell her to pay better attention about things happening around her! She can be a little self-centered and a little self-pitying, but she has a good heart. Because she is a nymph, her power comes from sex and lust. She is not ready for a new relationship so soon after her ex killed himself, but after meeting the sexy Sheriff, he is a temptation she is determined to avoid. However, fate (or destiny) has other plans. Having listened (as well as read) In Too Deep, I was eager to continue the series. I started to listen and was quickly hooked! I must admit that I was a little confused at first, because the story started by following a character called Sapphire, who was a very powerful Water Nymph. But, then I realised that it was a backstory for one of the characters and gave both Hayden and Amethyst a connection, even though remote. The story is told from several characters' point's of view, which gave it an interesting twist. We also get to know Preston, one of the council members, a little better. I must admit that I did feel sorry for him as the story unfolded. He is a really nice guy, who deserves to find happiness. I hope he does in the future. Carl, Amethyst's ex, is (or was) a warlock and a real piece of work. *SPOILER ALERT!!!* His "death" allows a Shadowfae to escape the prison Sapphire had imprisoned him in hundreds of years previously, and sets off a series of events that endanger the lives of several of the Edenton residents. This story is just as fast paced as the first. There are several surprising twists that I didn't see coming and danger lurks in the corners.  Amethyst does grow as a character and it was nice to watch her bloom. This story took me on a roller coaster ride of emotion, with lots of danger and action. I loved how the final showdown between Amethyst and the Shadowfae unfolded. It was extremely exciting and it had me sitting on the edge of my seat! The ending left me looking forward to continuing the series and will read or listen to the next book in the series, Falling Into Place as soon as possible. Brandy L. Rivers has written an intriguing sequel in the series. I loved her fast paced writing style, and the flow was wonderful. Unfortunately, the melodramatic dialogue was the only thing that let this story down in my opinion. However, with that being said, I would definitely read more of her books in the future. Due to explicit scenes of a sexual nature, I do not recommend this book to readers under the age of 18. However, I do recommend this book if you love hot erotic paranormal romances full of werewolves, vampires, fae, druids etc. - Lynn Worton

This takes us back to Amethyst's grandmother, Saphire, fighting the Shadows. The author shows us the Past and we learn more bout Faerie and some of the history of Fae. We are shown the battle between the Fae and the Shadows. Izackarus continues to fight with no reward. Saphire dies while sending Izackarus back to the Abyss. We are brought to present day. Amethyst is moving to Edenton and things don't start off to well. She is met by an angry werewolf who is taking his bad day out on her. Hayden intervenes and she has a hard time letting him in after the hell she went through already. She meets up with the girls (Fallon, Jess, and Jamie). Amethyst is thrown into a whole group of new friends, and enemies as Dacia is introduced. Amethyst is young and still trying to figure herself out, she appears weak as she is taking everything in slow.  Weird things have been happening in Edenton and soon enough "Zack" is to blame. Izackarus is back and trying to feed off of the fear and hate that people exude. However, he is finding it harder than normal to do with these Others. He has wrecked friends and families relationships but Amethyst has figured out how to fight back and help her new found friends.  Brandy Rivers has a wonderful way of giving you the full picture of what she has created. She adds some bad ass females along with their bad ass men and show what true love and true friendship is all about. You get all the fighting and the love in an amazingly written package. This is a must read!

Amethyst Lakes is running from her past. She wants to start over, away from the memories of a crazy stalker ex-boyfriend, so she heads to Edenton. The place that everyone goes to get away and begin again. She has friends there in Fallon and Jess. As she gets to town, she is pulled over by an officer and taken to the station for speeding, a little bit of overkill on his part, but at least the Sheriff, Hayden Hunter is there to take care of things and get her back on track. Of course the poor sheriff is smitten with Amethyst. Unfortunately, the ex-boyfriend, even though he is physically dead, is still a problem, since he was a warlock, and he has unleashed a problem that is making life very difficult in Edenton. We catch up with Jess & Slater and Fallon & Brody. Some other old friends from the first two books are also here again, and some new people are introduced. Edenton is still the place that everyone wants to be, and is the place that you can fall in love with and want to live. This book is almost like returning to a hometown after a couple of years away, it all still feels the same, yet there is some catching up to do. The whole series is so well connected that each book flows into the next, and you just feel like you are keeping up with friends, and even though each story is about a different couple, you still see and read about the couples and people you already knew about. It's one of those series' that you never want to come to a close because you have come to think of the people in the town as friends and you want to know more and more!

I am loving Other Of Edenton Series! It has been good since the first book I read.. Throughout all the books the stories are set in a town known as Edenton where you come to find the most cutest, strong, & kinda sensitive men to some degree. But you fall in love with these men, its truly hard not to fall in love with them..                                          I love Ame & Hayden's love story.. Its too cute! From the other books you kinda start to get a feel for Ame but you truly seen Hayden in the books before now & let me just tell you this little earth Faerie seems to be as gay as they come until now that is all thanks to Ame! She is  this nymph who is attracted to Hayden from the very start & vise vera however you see her trying not to fall in love with Hayden but as hard as she tries she just cannot hold out!  She caves in finally allows Hayden into her life. You learn of Shadow Fae in this book series & they are coming for Ame but luckily for her she has her friends & her man to help her through this all & luckily she is stronger then most would have ever though possible!  I think one thing I loved the most is that even though this is Hayden & Ame's time to shine the author still makes sure to include the previous characters such as Jess, Brody, Robert, Preston & the others!

While I was excited to finally see the grumpy sheriff of Edenton get his own story, and HEA, the story of Amethyst and Hayden was not the most intriguing part of this book for me. I was sucked in to the stories, and possibilities, of all the background characters. Preston, who we get to see in a different light; Jamie, who is still a bit of a mystery; Dacia, who I seriously hope gets her own book (rather than a funeral); and even Edenton's resident Nephilim, whose superpower is an uncanny ability to show up at the most embarrassing (or naughty) part of any conversation. So much happened in this book to set up the stories of many more of the residents of Edenton, as well as setting up the future for some that we already know and love. Ms. Rivers has built a fabulous world in this series and I cannot wait to find out what happens next!

Oh my goodness, I loved every minute of this book and I couldn't put it down. Amethyst and Hayden sizzled! The lore in this book, and this whole series, is fantastic. I lost myself in these characters and the incredible imagery. This book is an awesome journey of love, sacrifice, good, and evil. If you haven't tried this series, get it now! You won't be disappointed.
