The trained assassin looks out for the young prince. A crisp, vivid narrative fills the atmosphere with lush scenery, but trouble and politics lurk. Characters are interesting, but as this is a short, they are not fully developed. Overall, an interesting read.

It had a really good flow.  I had just give up on another book, and this was refreshing.  I enjoyed it very much.  Good job!

Good short story. Makes u hate hollowcrest even more. And gives much more understanding to how sicarius became the man he is.

Just a little short story about the the talk in the series about when the prince see the heads he brings back and what happens around it. Don't need to read it but it does tie a few things together that you learn in the series.

Very good background stuff and a solid short story.

While it is only 34 pages, this short gives you a glimpse of Sicarius and a five year old Sespian.

The story was well written, but I couldn't really connect to the charachters. Short storys don't have a lot of room for charachter devolopment but the charachters here felt like complete cardboard cutouts. Besides that it was a good short before bed read.

Love it!  Fun story lots of action and moves the characters personal relationships ahead more than most of the  full length novels have.  Not sure what else I can say without spoilers. Liked the end  a lot as one character is forced to see some of his preconceived notionsabout character (or even notions brought on by evidence presented by his own eyes ) may not be all there is to see in a man

Just another tidbit that adds nothing to plot or character development

I have just about read all of the books Lindsay has published. It was such a pleasant surprise to find this on b&n, plus it's FREE! Am sure this will be something I will enjoy.
