Shag music is the most dubious term going, nobody knows what it means. It includes every form of music from Bill Deal & the Rondells to Willie Tee. You can now add British Motown remakes to the shag controversy. The second of two volumes include aged-in-soul Motown artists' on "This Old Heart of Mine" Contours, Mary Wells' "You Beat Me to the Punch" the original is much better, and the Originals' "Please Mr. Postman" member Freddie Gorman co-wrote the classic made famous by the Marvelettes.
