Meet the Author

Scott Rothrock was born in Seoul, South Korea, but adopted and raised among the corn fields of central Pennsylvania. He suffered from profound hearing loss from a young age, but received a cochlear implant at the age of 16 before going on to study Japanese at Bucknell University. After graduating from Bucknell, he held a number of odd jobs before going to Japan, where he now teaches English in public schools.

On March 11, 2011, an earthquake struck Sendai and changed Japan forever. Scott writes about his experiences on that day in his first book, Shaken and Stirred.
