ELISA'S IN TROUBLE...
Elisa Langston is the obvious choice to take over the Langston Green plant nursery after her father's sudden death. Her beautiful blond stepsister Charlie and stepmother Gail manage the family's flower shops, while Elisa feels more at home driving a backhoe.

But after Elisa takes charge, Langston Green is hit by a wave of disasters: vandalism, arson, an earthquake. Money is stolen and the main building is burned to the ground. As the business hurtles towards failure, Elisa feels more desperate with each passing day. Can things get any worse?

NOW JAKE'S OUT TO NAIL HER...
Jake Street remembers fiery Elisa from high school, where he secretly lusted after her. He's glad she doesn't recall the little geek he was then. Now he's a muscular ex-detective turned insurance investigator, determined to do a good job on this last case before he enters the FBI. Repeated damage claims from Langston Green point toward insurance fraud, and the evidence is quickly stacking up against Elisa.

Elisa's exotic Latina charms may still be alluring, but if she's a criminal, she certainly won't get any special treatment; Jake will make sure she ends up in handcuffs.

Editorial Reviews

Ruby Gardner
***** Not your average "fluffy" romance

While there is a sizzling romance, there is also a very well-written adventure with plenty of intrigue. This heroine has plenty of spunk, and she's intelligent, too. An unbeatable combination. Watch for other books by this author.
Patricia Gragg
***** Excitement, Romance, Humor

Shaken has a great heroine. Elisa Lanston is a Latina with spirit and heart.
She stands her ground and fights for what she wants. Jake Street is her match. You've got to read the love scene that starts with the back hoe. I'm not kidding!
This book has great humour and a lot of suspense. You'll have a hard time putting it down.
Jeanine Clifford
***** Better than your typical romance novel

This book has intrigue, humor, and adventure, as well as romance. I found it a lot more interesting and stimulating than other romance novels. Looking forward to other books by this crafty author.

Great suspense wondering who was causing problems and wondering how Elisa would overcome all the challenges. I just ordered more books from this author.

    Good Read!

How do you prove you're innocent when someone accuses you of "faking" your problems? This book made me realize how hard that might be. Elisa's trying her best to run the family business--a plant nursery--after her father's death. As if that wasn't hard enough, there's an earthquake, and an invisible enemy is out to destroy her with vandalism and arson. Her business is failing and with her endless insurance claims, it's no wonder that Jake Street thinks she's an insurance fraud. Great suspense, nice romance, and good laughs, too. Recommended.
