    I really enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed this book! An old friend of mine is a Shakespeare buff and actor of Shakespearean plays. He and I had several lively talks about the information given in the book about the life and times of Shakespeare. It was fun and the book and those conversations inspired me to download the Complete Works of Shakespeare. Both of these books are free, which fits my pocketbook right now.

    Quick and Informative Read

I read this on a flight and felt that it was time very well-spent. The biographical narrative, however speculative it might be, is fascinating. The snippets of text from actual plays motivated me to pick up a couple of the Bard's works I had never read before. Definitely a worthwhile download!

    Amazing Overview

This book was a lovely read. Because I read the reviews ahead of time, I knew it wouldn't be official Shakespeare, so I was looking forward to really getting a feel for his general style. I learned quite a bit from reading this, even after it took a couple pages to really get into it.

This book incorporates his history and life nicely into the text. It reads more like a story than a biography. It comments on the plays that Shakespeare wrote and their relevance, and it does everything very concisely.

    Interesting Biography

This is really a biography of Shakespeare. Covers his whole life including items of controversey. Also included tables of events in history, and other fields that happened during his life.

    Pretty informative!

This book took me a while to get into, but once I was past about 25 pages, I really enjoyed it. It gave a brief overview of his plays and a couple of scenes from the favorite ones. It also gave a very nice history of Shakespeare's life, from what they know. I especially enjoyed the last portion which gave many references for various readers, i.e., students, actors, playwrights, directors, etc.

    Very good book!

I loved this book. It was very eventful and escalated quickly. I espesialy liked the part when Will was ecaping the alien ship and his ship nearly got shot down by the alien ships. Long story short this was a pretty darn good book.

    Recommended - very informative

This reads as a history lesson into the life of Shakespeare. The times leading up to and during his life. It is just what it says it is...lots of information, condensed into 70+ pages.
I felt like I was back in High School, reading this book. It is somewhat monotonous to read...but delivers on what it was intended to do.
A very slow read for me...and I am hoping to get done with it quickly.

    Recommended for very good reading

The Basic Biography of the Bard, presented through some selected parts of his works. I would have liked to read his famed 'Compleat Works,' but who has the time, much less Shakespeare's mastery of the English language, unless they intend to be a playwright or a deep student of theater? Yet the biographical background of Shakespeare's life and times
was simply fascinating, and the interplay of contextual facts, anecdotes, and historical excerpts of relevant works, well, works.
    All in all enjoyable.
