    An Essential for Any Teacher

    This is an excellent text that makes Shakespeare accesible for our students. It provides an framework which you can follow to the t or use as the basis for your own plans. I am teaching both Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth right now and have relied upon it heavily to make Shakespeare exciting for my students while meeting the learning objectives I set out for each unit.

    Great book to teach Shakespeare through acting

    We use this book for our Romeo and Juliet unit. It is a great book that has lessons built in that use creativity, live action and fun to teach Shakespeare. We are also lucky enough to have an Acting Company come to our school and teach some of the lessons from this book and also acting techniques that they can use in their own scene creations. While we try to read all of the book in class for optimal support, the book does require some outside reading for homework to accompany the lessons. Some of the lessons include art and craft creations such as masks, interpretative drawings of Queen Mab and collecting images of night.
