Overview

It's the apocalypse. The fabric of reality is breaking down, the agents of Chaos and Order have gathered to determine the true nature of the universe and the Four Horsemen have deployed to bring an end to everything that is anything. Even though it's a slow news day, no one in the entire universe seems to notice that the apocalypse is happening. Go figure.

Then there is Victor, one of the only beings in existence that seems to understand that something very peculiar and very final is going on. However, Victor is experiencing some problems of his own…he's hearing voices in his head. Not one or two, but countless voices, with countless, divergent trains of thought and feeling. Even stranger still, all these countless thoughts seem to be his own, as if his own consciousness has become seemingly autonomous and infinitely fragmented. Is he merely experiencing the effects of a splintered reality in the final throes of death or is there something else going on with this sudden, infinite schizophrenia he is experiencing?

What is the true nature of the universe? What exactly is the purpose of an apocalypse? What does all this have to do with Shakespearean monkeys? How many big questions can be packed into one paragraph to generate interest in a story?

The answer to the last question is four. The answers to the preceding three questions can be found within the novella Shakespeare's Monkeys!

Meet the Author

Allan was raised in the Canadian hinterlands by a pack of dyslexic wolverines. Trapped at age 14, he was brought to civilization and tamed with tv programming and caffeine. He was later integrated into human society with mixed results.

Periodically Allan can be found wandering the streets of Edmonton where he lives. Usually he is coherent and can be approached without tranquilizing him first.
