The first volume in a mutli-volume set of Canadian rockabilly, this brings together 30 tracks of ground floor rock'n'roll from the land of the wind chill factor. To be honest, much of the fare here veers closer to the 'billy side of the genre, but just when you think the collection is headed straight for the hoedown, a surprising little number like "Eenie Meenie Miney Moe" by Bob and Lucille or "Mary Lou" by Ted Daigle pops up to make you realize there was plenty of the big beat in the hinterlands, too.
