Library Journal
Aubrey, student of the master shapechanger Glyrenden, desires to perfect his own magical skills but realizes that there are some things more important than knowledge. Shinn's luminous style is well suited for this graceful tale about the transforming power of love. This first novel belongs in fantasy collections.

What People are saying about this

Peter Beagle
Sharon Shinn strikes me as the most promising and original writer of fantasy to come along since Robin McKinley...her deceptively low-keyed, marvelously straightforward storytelling is a delight and a comfort to discover. This one knows how it's done.

wow! This book was amazing. A beautifully written, and original story. Characters are so well developed, especially the strange, yet captivating Lilith. One of the best books I have read so far.

To view the world from the various perspectives outlined in the book was captivating. Read it with an open mind and imagination. I loaned my copy to someone sometime back and it has not been returned. I am seriously considering another copy just to have it and read it again in the future.

I found The Shape-Changer's Wife to be very predictable. I did like Aubrey's character growth, but that was the only highlight for me.

I just finished Archangel and I am so glad I discovered this author. Her stories are so unique and well written that I am truly sad when I finish one of them. I recommend all of this ladys books to anyone who reads fantasy. I couldnt put her books down.
