FIVE BRAND NEW STORIES FROM THE ORIGINAL AUTHORS OF THE USA TODAY BESTSELLING SERIES

It’s been said there’s no such thing as quiet here. Ever since the metropolis first became home to paranormals, discord was named queen. But who will be her king--vampires, werewolves, demons or men? One thing remains sure: This land is a battleground and conflict is eternal. Yet there are those who join together--strangers, enemies, lovers. Here, one silken caress can be deadlier than a bullet, but some still know joy. For darkness can become light, and in one sharp instant pain can become ecstasy, and hatred, love.

I loved the CRIMSON CITY series, but this book of four short stories really didn't appeal to me. Although they're romantic and steamy, and bring back familiar characters, they didn't feel finished.

I usually enjoy anthologies of short stories, but it seems that when it deals with the vampires, werewolves, demons, and other assorted lot who inhabit Crimson City, longer is definitely better.

These stories were fun, but I'd rather read more novels in the world. I was also disappointed that Marjorie Liu wasn't one of the contributers. I hope the fact that this is a short story collection doesn't mean the series is ending. I think my favorite of the short stories was probably 'School Bites.' It's the only one that really felt like a complete story. The other stories felt like they should have been excerpts from novels.

all the writers are very talented for the most part I enjoyed the series even though it left out answers to some of the things that went on I was very much looking forward to this new book i was so sure it would be great..it SUCKED big time,I am sore y disapointed in liz maverick she had the perfect opportunity to jill and marcus together at last but no she screwed it up for a third time .Dont get me wrong I do like many of her books but this series was a big dissapointment and a let down ,..I also figured the question of the very first book of the crimson series where the half vampire and were wolf child that was stolen and yet later saved by a demon .What happened to him ?I was sure that they would mentioned him or wrote about his struggle from the time of his capture to the rescue and what would have happened to him after his return was it a struggle to live ?find love? adjust?at peace with who and what he is???????? nope didnt happen. And in the suduced by crimson .What was the prophecy about the baby Xiao fe found ? There are so many unanswered questions and lead offs in other directions the storys got confusing and made me think I missed something so i would go back and reread the books all over again only to see i wasnt mistaken ,With so much talent and the other books i have read from all the authors in their other romance novels I was surprised this last book SUCKED ,
