Overview

The inspiring true story of Shark Tank star Barbara Corcoran—and her best advice for anyone starting a business. After failing at twenty-two jobs, Barbara Corcoran borrowed $1,000 from a boyfriend, quit her job as a diner waitress, and started a tiny real estate office in New York City. Using the unconventional lessons she learned from her homemaker mom, she gradually built it into a $6 billion dollar business. Now Barbara's even more famous for the no-nonsense wisdom she offers to entrepreneurs on Shark Tank, ABC's hit reality TV show.

Shark Tales is down-to-earth, frank, and as heartwarming as it is smart. After reading it don't be surprised if you find yourself thinking, "If she can do it, so can I." Nothing would make Barbara happier.

I enjoyed reading about Barbara Corcoran's childhood and her success as a realtor. She is my favorite shark on Shark Tank, and this book made her come alive. As a small business owner, I appreciated reading about her business strategies and CAN-DO spirit. The book read as though Barbara had written it herself, although she acknowledges a ghost writer. I would say Bruce Littlefield did an excellent job of writing the text in a natural style.

I love this book! I even went out and bought some as gifts. Normally, business books I have read even when interesting, disengage the audience. This book is captivating!

This is a book that anyone in business or sales has to read. it's not about real estate. It's a story about one person's perseverance, hard work & creativity. A MUST READ!

Barbara was cursed with dyslexia as a child, yet blessed because she apparently saw solutions to problems that confronted her when creating herself as a businesswoman. She was also blessed with a wonderful mother, and the book is interspersed with her mother's wisdom that Barbara applied later in life. As president of a club that she formed as a kid (I won't spoil your surprise by naming the club here), Barbara was destined for greatness and she fulfilled her destiny.
