    "She Who Must Be Obeyed!"

I first found out about Ayesha,"She Who Must Be Obeyed" when I saw in 1965 the Hammer Films version of SHE starring Ursula Andress. The story caught me and I went out and read the book. It would be thirty years later when I again returned to the 2,000 year old beauty finding a Laser Disk copy of the 1935 film. Now I just finished reading the 1883 book again on my Nook and have both sequels to read.

Like his other classic KING SOLOMON'S MINES H.Rider Haggard transports the reader into an adventure I think like no other. SHE tells the story of Leo Vincey who may be the reincarnation of a Greek Priest, or maybe not. The reader travels from England to the swamps surrounding the lost city of Kor. Eventually, coming face to face with Ayesha the most beautiful women on earth. Who claims to have murdered Leo's out of jealousy over two thousand years before the date of the story and that's all I will say.
