All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many styles she couldn't be contained on one album, splitting Oral Fixation in two. This time, she focuses on one sound only: a pulsating electro-disco that crosses all boundaries and welcomes all nationalities. Such concentration behooves Shakira, freeing her to release her inner She Wolf, a wild wacko who's as coo coo as she is carnal. And for as sexy as Shakira is -- crucially, her music is sexy too -- what really gives She Wolf its bite is her inspired nuttiness, how she laments that Matt Damon's not meant for her, and wishes her ex-lover and his new girl a horrible vacation where the room smells and the toilet ...

"Darling, it is no joke, this is lycanthropy," she sings on the title track with no small trace of humor, and this blend of cheerful weirdness and sick beats -- often supplied by the Neptunes, delivering tough, sensual rhythms in a way they haven't in a long time, but also John Hill and Wyclef Jean -- is giddily addicting, a celebration of all the strange sensuality that comes out at night. [This expanded edition features four bonus tracks, as well as live versions of "Gypsy" and "She Wolf."]
MTV News - Big James Montgomery
At its core, She Wolf is simply Shakira's attempt at making an electro-pop record. And the songs presented here are her versions of dance music: mutated, genre- (and era-) hopping, poly-national tunes, written by a Colombian pop star who's fluent in English, Portuguese and Italian, tinkered with by a globe-spanning squad of producers (the Neptunes, Timbaland, Wyclef, John Hill, Amanda Ghost, etc.). It's music that couldn't have existed in any other era — a very 21st-century, global thing — made by a woman whose career wouldn't have been possible at any other time in history.

Very Creative Mix of Pop Music Styles

The thing I like most about this artist is a willingness to be creative. Shakira has always blended different sounds together in a pleasing way, this is somewhat different in that it is more electronic pop than some of her earlier work, yet it is pure 100% Shakira. The Latin roots are present though combined with disco rhythms. At times you can hear a funk influence, at times a Michael Jackson influence, yet it is wonderfully original. Even though a bit of the vamp is present, at heart you know that this is a good girl (hugely dedicated to her work educating children through her charitable foundation) who is having a blast simply entertaining us with a sly wink.

    Fantastic !

I purchased this album today. I have never purchased an album by Shakira. And I must say that I am very pleased with my purchase. She appeals to all audiences with this album. Whether you like latin music or hip-hop, this album will not disappoint. I highly recommend it. Especially:

Did It Again (Featuring Kid Cudi)
    Why Wait
Give It Up To Me (Featuring Lil Wayne)
    She Wolf

I predict her winning grammys for this. Thank you Shakira, for making good music !

    I Also Recommend:

Have to own it! Love every song!

Great CD! Love all the songs. Great to listen to at home, in the car and especially when exercising. I don't speak spanish, but I sing along to the spanish versions of the songs. Saw her live in concert - it was fantastic - can't wait for her next tour. Would like to learn more spanish to appreciate the music even more.
