I am a fitness expert, professional trainer, and wellness coach with a lifetime of mind-body experience and a passion for health and well-being. This book is an extension of my classroom and training, where I share and listen to stories about how The 5 Living Principles of Well-Being have opened doors for so many of my students and friends. I hope that this book will wake up your heart. My wish is to encourage you to look inside yourself and ask, 'Am I ready for my Breakthroughs? Am I ready to admit the things I need to do in order to have the health and peace of mind I am looking for? Am I ready to put a plan together and to start living it? Am I ready to Embrace It, Own It, Live It®?'
What is a Breakthrough? Have you ever had a moment or a period in your life when you just seemed to 'get it'? That is, at first you saw something in a certain way and were not open to considering alternate views, then all of a sudden for some reason it took on a new importance or your perspective changed, opening a doorway to understanding. It is like flipping a switch. A Breakthrough can happen any day, week, month, or year. The bulb goes on, and with it comes enlightenment.
In this book, I'll explain how Breakthroughs do one of two things: they either confirm that we are on the right track or confirm that we are on the wrong track. It is usually easier to keep our heads down and just keep doing what we've always doneuntil we have no choice but to look up, and there it is: smack! It's right in our faces, and we have no option but to address what we have tried to avoid. Breakthroughs are a proactive and positive way to take more control of your life; to confront your challenges and pursue your desires and dreams; and to finally reach out for the truth, help, and fulfillment you have been longing to find.
The process of self-discovery and finding well-being is very personal, and the road traveled is different for each of us. In this book I share my journey, but what I hope will be of greatest benefit to the reader are the powerful tools I have found that work for me and the others who have embraced them. Are you ready?
