This book is not available yet, so I can't review it, but I wanted to say that I know the photographer and have seen much of his work. He has an amazing ability to capture animals in the most beautiful way. The personalities of his subjects truly shine through. Some of the photos will make you laugh out loud, while others absolutely melt your heart. All will tug at your heartstrings and hopefully make you consider adopting a cat (or dog--can't wait for that book!) from a shelter. That is Mike's purpose--he DONATES his talent to photograph these animals so that when someone is searching through Petfinder or the shelter website for that special companion, they won't overlook one merely because of a poor photo. Many of the animals he has worked with have been adopted, because his picture captured someone's heart. I highly recommend this book, for yourself or as a gift for any cat-lover in your life.

I just read this book and it is simply amazing. The photographer did an awesome job of taking pictures of these shelter cats. He really captured their personalities, which is really difficult . I also enjoyed reading about the history of shelter cats and the statistics on what happens when cats are not spayed or neutered. You can tell that the author is passionate about his work and the responsibility that people should take in order to help control the population of unwanted cats. This book is a must have, especially if you are a cat lover. Even if you are not, you can't help but appreciate the talent the photographer, author has photographing animals.
