I have the paperback edition in my library and have read it several times. It's like an old friend I return to now and then.
It is set on an alternative world and chronicals 2 different cultures. Jayne Ann Krentz is a personal favorite of mine.

I was so glad when this came out in e-read. This was one of the first paranormal books I had ever read and definitely one of my "desert islands" picks. My only complaint was the editing/proofing was TERRIBLE. At times I had trouble understanding the paragraphs because of all the incorrect line breaks, wrong words that were not picked up during the editing -- and I've read this book dozens of times, literally. I hope they do better on the rest of her older novels.

I'm a big fan of Jayne's and have almost all of her books. I bought this originally as a paperback many years ago. I love reading books on my ereader. Just wish that there weren't so many errors in it. Some were easy to figure out like Ken instead of Keri (the little boy at the fair) and rivet instead of river. But some of the errors I could not figure out even though I have read the book before. Are the other reissues like this?

A 5 star read! Shield's Lady was as much fun re-reading it as it was the first time in paper. I'm so glad JAK's backlist is being reissued in e-book! It has science fiction, adventure, mystery, romance, drama and suspense! What more can you ask for?

I have the original paperback book as well and I purchased the ebook version because print is so fragile.... This is a great book; I can hardly wait to read it again!

I have this book and have read it several times. I knew when I purchased it it was a Jayne Ann Krenz book and it did not disappoint. It had one of the first atlernate universe stories and was descriptive enough and not to much to detract from the actual story, which has become Jayne, Amanda, and Stephanie's trademark. Have been waiting YEARS for another in that particular universe.

read this book under the published name of Amanda Glass, truly enjoyed it, then realized it was Stephanie James/Jayne Anne Krentz, would like to see a sequel. Also would like to see this in audiobooks

((Of course he is.)) Staggers in, weak and terrified, and collapses on the floor. Now would be a great time to either kill him or help him.

This is an older JAK paranormal romance, and I just love this one! The story is really good and it has turned into one of my favorite books. Sometimes older books don't hold up very well, but that doesn't happen here. Please keep releasing classic JAK and out of print books. Thanks. :)
