    Poorly formatted and forgettable

This book is free and it shows. It is terribly formatted and pretty boring. After an hour or so of dealing with boring reading and poor formatting, I put it down. Shelby Foote is a great Civil War historian (God rest his soul), but I really didn't like his writing style.

Poorly formatted. Wait for a better version.

Nov 2010 - This book is 95% great.. however, the 5% remaining keep me from attempting to read it any further than I've already tried.

It doesn't seem like a big thing, but when numerics are mixed up you can't get a sense of which units are where. ieth could be 10th or 12th, 1&ve means 'I've' and so on.

In addition, the page headers are constant.. except on where they show up. Middle of the page, bottom, halfway to the top.. you have to force yourself to keep skipping over the text to read the story.. It's too big a break in my reading style.

Too bad. I was really looking forward to this read.

    FREE

Can't complain because it was free. Not that difficult to get past the errors. Very well written. I'll be getting more of Shelby's works!
