"Victorine" was built in 1848 in Piermont; she carried iron ore and limestone for the West Point Foundry and had the reputation, from the Sunday afternoon races, of being the fastest sloop oon the Hudson. "Vema" (ex "Hussar") was a three masted schooner yacht built in 1922 at Burmeister & Wein, Copenhagen, for the financier E. F. Hutton and converted in 1953 by the late Maurice Ewing to serve as a research vessel for the Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory. Fine.
