I've traveled a lot in southeast Asia, and Cooper nailed it. The characters are vivid and the plot is gangbusters. If you want a quick read that really pulls you into a different world click away.

Overview
On the wracked beach of Chittagong, Bangladesh, armies of men reduce the world's unwanted ocean vessels to scrap - using nothing more than torches, hacksaws, and muscle. One is Mohit, desperately poor, whose dream of a better life is destroyed when a foreman dies in an explosion. But the death may not have been an accident. Mohit tracks the killer through his shantytown, confronting bosses, criminal gangs, and laborers no different than himself.
