Ethan was twenty-seven, tattooed, tall, dark, and hot. And lugging some baggage. Hed already made it in the business and brought Lissa on to help get her on her feet. And it turned out, he liked a little weird.

Ethan made it clear that he wasnt in the market for a relationship. Lissa was happy to learn the ropes and push her attraction aside.

But how do you draw the line when every touch makes youshiver?

Meet the Author

I live in beautiful Northern Virginia with my incredible husband, two awesome kids, three dogs, and two budgies. My husband and I both grew up riding and competing horses and have our own equestrian operation that we run together. In my spare time, I read through the hundreds of stories awaiting me on my e-reader.

My love of books started early, and my mom used to ration my reading time so I didnt go through them too quickly. I love all things romantic, whether its dark or light or silly or dirty, but I really love a happy ending!

In my small moments of quiet time, youll find me sipping on wine and reading while any movie where people randomly burst into song or dance plays in the background.

Shiver was such a fun, quirky book, filled with romance, laughs, and a two wonderful main characters. Lissa was what really made the book for me because she was so spunky, eccentric, and enjoyable. The first 75% moved at a great pace and I loved to see how things would play out for Ethan and Lissa but the last 15% felt a bit disjointed. It is great that CM was using this 15% to raise awareness of something near and dear to her heart, but it seemed like it could have been pulled together a bit more cohesively to fit in with the rest of the story. Though it appeared a bit disjointed, it was great to see Ethan and Lissa come together during a difficult time and see their love prevail.

A refreshing change of pace from romance books I’ve read of late, I much enjoyed Shiver. The storyline was engaging, the characters were well developed and the hurdles the characters had to overcome were realistic – a very well-written book overall. Steam and humor were nicely interspersed with the heavier topics. I would have liked to have had a bit more backstory on Ethan and Lissa’s earlier friendship as the speed and intensity at which they reunited almost bordered on insta-love for me. I do love the dynamic of how they tackled work and home life as a team, playing upon each other’s strengths and helping to boost the other's weaknesses. I look forward to reading more from C.M. Foss.

This book turned out not to be quite what I had expected, in a good way. This story follows Lissa and Ethan. Ethan takes burgeoning equestrian Lissa under his wing, trying desperately not to give into the attraction between them. Lissa is attracted to him as well, but so thirsts for what he can teach her, she sets it aside. Or so she thinks. How long can they deny the promise of something really great between them? This book was interesting on a few levels. One, it’s about horses which is something I don’t know that much about but was done in a way I could follow and found fascinating. It’s a fun and sweetly romantic story that takes you pretty far into the future with Lissa and Ethan, and from there things get even more interesting. I don’t want to spoil it for you, but I actually learned something from this book that I hadn’t known about before. So, not only was I entertained, but I was also educated, so it’s a win/win situation! That’s not something I generally expect from a romance novel. Now for Ethan. Oh my. Can you say deliciously alpha? Because he was deliciously alpha. He was commanding but you could still tell that he cared and cared deeply for Lissa. But oh my goodness, that man was fun to read about. Overall, I enjoyed this book very much. It’s a very complete story, taking you places I think you’re not going to expect. I would recommend it! 4 stars Reviewed by Sara Squared for Crystal’s Many Reviewers *Copy Provided for review*

From the title of this book, I had no idea what to expect. Now I will never think of a "Shiver" the same again. Lissa and Steph are best friends that move out to a small town to pursue their dreams after graduating high school. They both have a little bit of a wild side to them and party together. Lissa had just had her heart broken by her ex-boyfriend, Blake, and is slowly getting over him and realizes that she is better off without him anyway. At a bar one night, Blake tries to confront her and tell her he still loves her and Ethan comes to her rescue telling Blake that he needs to leave her alone and let her have her space. Ethan and Lissa had been room mates previously and there had been no spark between them, but now Lissa feels the connection and acts on it. The chemistry between Ethan and Lissa is immediate and you can even feel it as a reader. Lissa ends up having an accident and messing up both of her arms, but goes to work for Ethan on his farm after healing a little. It took her awhile to get back to normal but Ethan gave her small jobs that she could handle. The whole time Lissa is working with Ethan, there is chemistry but he keeps denying it and pushes her away. He has other issues that he wants to clear up first. When Lawrence, a client of Ethan's, comes into the picture, Ethan starts to show his jealousy for Lissa when Lawrence flirts with her. Lissa and Lawrence become good friends but that is all. Ethan finally gives into his feeling for Lissa and tells her that she is his now. Lissa goes with Ethan to meet his mom and they hit it off immediately. His mother loves her! Ethan ends up meeting Lissa's family and they all accept and love him. When Lissa and Ethan end up having little Thomas, you assume that things are going to be happily ever after with no issues, but they are not. The trials and struggles that Lissa and Ethan have to go through with Thomas make you realize that their love is strong and can endure pretty much anything. In out society today, people often give up when faced with struggles but it was so nice to read this story where they did not give up and came together as husband and wife to figure out the problem and help each other through the hard times. There was a HEA and it made you feel all warm inside because of all that these two had been through! This was such a good read from CM Foss. This was a cowboy that was hardworking and serious about getting what he wanted. Lissa was also hard working and dedicated to making their relationship work as well. I look forward to more from this Author.
