Recommend for the family that likes children's literature.

This book is the kind of book you would want to read to children at bedtime; clearly it is a diversion from River's other works. The simple story line makes for a quick heartwarming Christmas read, but I found the book disappointing in its lack of plot and development of characters.

I love Francine River's books, I have a collection of her books, so I bought "The Shoebox" expecting a full length novel.

I was surprised to see that it was only 28 pages. Usually the Product Details will tell you how many pages a Nook Book has. The Product Details didn't mention the number of pages on the book.

    beautiful story

Francine Rivers always delivers a wonderful story. You can't go wrong with anything written by her. This was a sweet and touching story. It is a very quick read, I read it in one sitting. Could be read to children as well.
