This one has been my favorite of the series- so far. I loved the whole reality tv angle- so creative. I was engrossed in this book from the very beginning to the last page. I didn't want to see it end. I love Abby and her sister. I've recommended this series to so many people! Have a great time reading it!

A strong series that continues to entertain

After the discovery of her own adoption, Houston heiress Abby Rose founded Yellow Rose Investigations to specialize in adoption cases and prevent the emotional turmoil she underwent upon uncovering her own family¿s history. When a reality show crew comes to hire her to find their makeover candidate¿s mother and the sister given up for adoption, Abby reluctantly agrees only so as to help the young woman. Abby admires Emma Lopez, who put herself and her brother through college while raising her other siblings, and the reality show promises the family a new home and financial rewards for permitting a film crew to record the investigation. However, when the target becomes the missing baby given up by Emma¿s mother Emma balks and tries to pull out of the deal. Once the demolition of Emma¿s former home reveals a skeleton the stakes are raised and both Emma and Abby have no choice but to uncover the tragic secrets that have remained hidden for too long. Between battling the exploitive production crew and fencing with a crime show investigator, Abby barely has time to deal with her own family¿s problems, namely her sister¿s sudden romantic breakup and new relationship with a man who rubs Abby the wrong way. With the help of her police detective boyfriend, though, Abby capably and professionally beats out the cops to uncover one family¿s history even though it may threaten her own. Despite it¿s cozy appearance, Shoot from the Lip tackles serious issues and proves itself to be more of a private investigator novel than an amateur sleuth mystery. Abby Rose is a wonderfully likable, and very smart, character, who avoids those woman-in-jeopardy situations and remains a competent and sharp investigator. With its wit, fast pace, and very believable and entertaining characters, the Yellow Rose series remains strong and continues to improve with each new installment. This is a series to watch.
