    Short Cuts

    What You Would Expect From Raymond Carver

    This collection of short stories by Raymond Carver is very good, but nothing unexpected from the author. His writing style is spare, with a realism that feels voyeuristic.
    As it is touted on the cover, Robert Altman adapted this book to a film of the same title; as it turns out, the Criterion release of that dvd comes with this book of short stories. So, if you enjoy Altman films (and really, who doesn't?), buying the dvd would be a worthwhile (and perhaps wiser) investment.
