Short Stories About Regret: Characters dwelling on the past for better or worse

An action is taken. It may be as the result of balanced thought or on a mere whim or impulse. But once taken many of these actions cannot be disregarded or ignored. They have set in motion effects and consequences. Some may be harmless or just minor irritations, but others can have long-lasting consequences that bring regret and the thought of what might have been.

In this volume our classic authors Sherwood Anderson, Katherine Mansfield, D H Lawrence and many others bring narratives that bring regret and its’ aftermath in many shades and hues.

Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was an American novelist and poet best known as the author of the novel Little Women and its sequels Little Men and Jo's Boys.
