Henry stood beside Detective Martinez, inspecting the old apartment building before them. Supposedly, their killer was inside.

    "You ready?" The detective inquired, pulling her gun from its holster.

    "Quite, Detective." Henry responded.

    "Okay. Lets go. And for God's sake, Henry, stay behind me and no running off."

    A silence greeted Jo, much to her annoyance. She huffed and started forward. She knocked harshly on the door. "Police! Open up!"

    No answer.

    In a matter of moments, the door was busted down, the building being flooded by armed Uniforms, Jo and Henry in the lead.

    The apartment was dark and dismal, having a faint odor to it. Henry sniffed at the air, his brow furrowing.

    The detective proceeded forward, sweeping into the kitchen with her pistol extended. "Clear." She declared.

    A few more "clears" echoed her.

    "Where--" She was cut off by a crash.

    Henry was the first to react, disappearing down a hallway. A window had been shattered, their suspect disappearing into the alley below.

    "Henry!" Jo called in vain. She cursed and followed him.

    Dr. Morgan was long gone, chasing the suspected killer down the pedestrian-filled sidewalks.

    Finally, the suspect made a wrong turn and was conered in an alley. Henry was greeted with gunpoint.

    "Don't--take another step." The suspect's voice was strained, his breathing sporadic.

    Henry raised his hands, showing he was unarmed. "Give me the gun." He said calmly, extending a had slightly.

    The suspect, known as John Kerry, squeezed his finger around the handgun's trigger, firing a pair of rounds.

    ~~~ JO ~~~
    The firt thing Jo heard was two gunshots. She was spurned forward, ducking into the alleyway.
    "Henry?"
    "Detective." Henry was bent over Kerry, who was sprawled backwards, blood oozing from a wound in his abdomen. "I'm sorry. The bullet ricocheted off the garbage bin."
    "I heard two shots. Are you okay, Henry?" Jo responded after calling for an ambulance.
    Henry looked up, a frown crossing his face. "I'm--fine, Detective. Unfortunately, John Kerry is not."
    "Huh?"
    "He's dead, Jo, killed by his own bullet." Dr. Morgan folded his blood-stained hands behind his back stiffly.
    Jo wore a troubled expression, examining her partner. "Are you sure you're okay?"
