If you want an feel good book that is suspenseful and romantic, this is the book for you. I have read both books and love the continuation of the characters in the second book. These books make me wish I lived in a small town. The characters seem like old friends. I hope there is a third, fourth, etc!
I highly recommend this book. I could not put it down and finished it in just two days. It is a mystery that just sucks you in. As soon as you think you have figured out what is going on, you get a clue that pulls you in a different direction. I enjoyed Maureen's first book, Night Walks Softly, but this second novel is even better! As a young professional woman, I really identified with Shelley. I liked how she is an independent and strong-willed professional woman who manages to balance a career and family life. Read it, you will be glad you did.
This book was full of suspense from the first page. I loved Sherry, the main character, and learning how she coped with a situation that went from bad to worse. I was very surprised at the end. I loved the book. Hoping for a third Yellow River book from this author!
Enjoyed the continuation of character development in this second Gerber book about Yellow River. Really need to read the first book to understand some of the background of the characters. Lots of typos which was a bit destracting. Not much mystery or deep philosophy here, just a simple, easy read.
