Shout Praises!: Kids Gospel

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Tracy E. Hopkins
On the dynamic opening song, "When the Spirit of the Lord" popularized by gospel impresario Fred Hammond, the Spectrum Children's Ministry choir is asked, "Are you ready to throw down?," and the enthusiastic young singers joyously exclaim, "Yes, we are!" And throw down they do. Not only is Shout Praises! Kids Gospel a praiseworthy follow-up to the bestselling children's series Shout to the Lord Kids, but it's one of the best gospel records of 2002. On this live disc, this multiethnic children's choir raise the roof -- or the steeple, as it were -- with hand-clapping, foot-stomping renditions of Mary Mary's "Shackles Wanna Praise You," Kurt Carr's "In the Sanctuary,"...

But Shout Praises! is more than just kiddie fare: Its explosive adult vocalists lead a funky arrangement of the CCM staple "Shout to the Lord," which is given a G-funk vibe, and a spirited "I Will Praise," which borrows the beat of the Black Box club hit "Everybody, Everybody." For anyone looking to get their praise on, this anointed collection is a blessing for worshippers young and old.

    AWESOME PRAISE AND WORSHIP SONGS!!!

One of the CD's played during our children church service--From babies through ages 11. All the children, affectionally known as Covenant Cubs (0-3), Covenant Kids (3-6), Covenant Warriors (7-11) love it and so do the adult workers. I bought the CD after hearing it in the children nursery while volunteering with my daughter Zoe. (She loves it too and she's only 14 months).

    ANOINTED MUSIC

THIS CD HAS BEEN GREAT. WE SERVE ABOUT 250 CHILDREN EVERY SUNDAY. IT ENCOURAGED OUR CHILDREN PRAISE LEADERS. NOW MORE AND MORE CHILDREN WANT TO LEAD. I'VE LISTEDED TO MANY CHILDREN SONGS, TAPES, AND CDS. THIS IS ANOINTED MUSIC.

    Patiently Waiting

I brought this for my 3 year old, but my son and I enjoy it just as much. We ride with the CD everywhere we go. This is a wonderful CD. Our children and youth choirs are even singing the songs at church. We can't wait for #2.

Pretty good- also try WORSHIP ROCK

My family prefers Troy and Genie Nilsson's music like Scripture Rock and Worship Rock, but this is good.

Get Ready To Get Your Praise On

This album will have you praising the Lord all day long. It's filled with praise and worship songs tht gets your soul flowing. If you like Israel & New Breed, you'll love most of their songs that the children sing on here such as, ''Who Is Like The Lord,'' ''You Are Good'', and ''I Lift Up My Hands''. My favorites includes, Kurt Carr's ''In The Sanctuary'', ''I Will Praise'' and the updated versions of ''Shout To The Lord'' and ''Lord, I Lift Your Name On High''. If you love this album, you should check out these artists as well: Mississippi Children's Choir, Youth For Christ, GMWA Youth Mass Choir, TM Mass Youth, Jesus Gang, and Walt Whitman and the Soul Children of Chicago.
