Overview

When Rainie rushes an injured dog to a clinic, she's appalled to recognize the veterinarian, Jake Sheffield. So not fair. His memory has haunted her for over a decade. And then he showed up at her Shadowlands BDSM club. And now, he owns the veterinary clinic? The Gods of Cruelty must be laughing at her.

Master Jake is sophisticated, wealthy, and gorgeous. Rainie's a fluffy, ex-slum-rat. He'd never be with a woman like her. Besides, she's been burned enough times that she won't get serious about any man. Sure, the BDSM club trainees are supposed to be seeking a permanent Dom, but no harm, no foul-the Masters don't need to know the truth.

As a Shadowlands Master, Jake watches out for all the trainees. But one is special. Lush body, a gift for living life to the fullest, always laughing or smiling. Now he's learned she also has a big heart. Although Rainie trips all his switches, she's avoided him since the moment she arrived...and he let her have that play. But when she lies to him about her goals, he knows the time has come for a Master to take an active part in her training.

I really did not like this book. I have read every Shadowlands book written and have loved, loved, LOVED each one! Why not this one? I'll try to answer: First, there really was not a story just two people who were acquaintances, then meet because of a dog, then start to have sex at the club, then more sex, then more sex all the whole time she kept thinking she wasn't worthy of him and would ruin his reputation; and he thinking something was wrong (or whatever, didn't get it). Second, did not see much development of her character and none of his--they were the most boring couple ever in the Shadowlands series. Cherise, were you in a hurry? Also, it sounds like the Shadowlands series is coming to an end because there are no more trainees. What an awful way to end the series (if indeed it is ending)--I'll look more closely if there is another one--my money is too precious to just throw away.

Holy cow, she did it again. Every. Single. Time. I read a new Cherise Sinclair book, I decide it's my all time favorite. But this one? It really IS the best ever!!! Who knew from past glimpses that Rainie was so incredible? I just love her. I want to bundle her up, take her home and keep her. And Jake? O.M.G!!! Could he be any hotter? There are only 2 things I would change about this book. 1) a follow-up scene with Bart and 2) longer. But then, I always want Cherise's books longer. I never ever want them to end. So I'll just sit here and wait for the next new book. Patiently....NOT!!! Is there a new one yet???? Seriously, buy all her books. You won't regret it for one second. Just be prepared to rofl, have lots of tissue, and tons of ice (because these are HOT).

I big fan and this one didn't meet my expectations. I never really connected with the main characters. As part of the continuing series - it was fun to see the developments among the characters I've enjoyed, particularly the double wedding.

This book isn't as good as Cherise's other Shadow books. Rainie just seemed...2D. Jake even sucked. This was a real let down. Same recipe. Same stuff.

I felt like it was rushed. Like the deadline was almost up and there was no time to put in the naughty bits we love and expect from a Shadowland book.

I have loved all the books in the Shadowlands series. Unfortunately, this was the weakest book in the series. It was very slow & very little erotic content. Hopefully, the next will be as good as the first 8.

Raine tried to keep her past hidden. Jake wanted to know more about Raine. An accidental meeting gives Jake the perfect opportunity to find out more about Raine. Raine is skeptical about Jake liking someone like her. Jake has to prove to Raine that she is more than her past and that he needs her. Raine has to let Jake in and trust him. This was an awesome book by a great author!

This is a story of BDSM and the relationships between Doms and subs. It was well written and interesting. The main characters are Jake, a veterinarian and Rainie, a young woman who's lived a rather hard life. Her father walked out when she was 7 and her mother deserted her when she was 12. She was put in foster care from which she ran away when the male foster parent tried to rape her. She was on the streets and ended up with a drug dealer who eventually was killed during a drug deal gone bad. She was in court and the judge felt she might be habilitated with help from a woman who helped mentor kids like Rainey. The lady saves her life by taking her in. As an adult She belongs to a BDSM club and the author portrays the lifestyle quite well. While this is not my ideal lifestyle I thought it was well written

Cherise Sinclair has done it again. I loved the relationship between Jake and Rainie. The characters were so well written and it's nice to see a full figured woman get her man.

I can honestly recommend any and all the Club Showlands stories. Ms Sinclair is a wonderful writer. Her stories have it ALL, honesty, compassion, wit, sexy erotica and sensual love. Her characters seem so real, it makes me want to be friends with them. I can only hope Ms Sinclair will continue writing stories for the Club Shadowlands. *****. Sign me a loyal happy fan. J

...for Christmas is a Shadowlands membership and to meet these wonderful characters. The Doms that fantasies are made of and the submissive that really rule the roost. Cherise Sinclair does not disappoint and adds another layer to the people of the Shadowlands.

I waited for this to come out, and I was not disappointed in the least. It's a sweet story, with a fine serving of BDSM.

Rainie and Jake had to overcome lessons taught to them early in life. Rainie more so than Jake. Through patience and love and good friends it is realized that your past doesn't matter. Needing someone isn't a weakness.
