Although this came out in late 2004, it wouldn't have had that hard of a time passing for a hard rock album of about 30 years earlier, other than for its use of some foul language that even the biggest hard rock acts had a hard time getting through the censors back in the 1970s. Although this came out in late 2004, it wouldn't have had that hard of a time passing for a hard rock album of about 30 years earlier, other than for its use of some foul language that even the biggest hard rock acts had a hard time getting through the censors back in the 1970s. In places the sound is very much in the vein of Aerosmith for whom they've opened for on tour, and Nick Perri's vocals often ring with the influence of Robert Plant. Was it something that was really needed? No, and Show & Tell doesn't boast hooks on the order of the biggest '70s hard rock bands. But the enduring popularity of that sound has proved there will always be a market for new bands doing the same thing, even bands that weren't born when many of their influences were in their heyday. Silvertide have that sound down cold, along with much of the aggressive posturing that comes with it, including lyrical references to partying, sex, and telling the rest of the world where to get off on "S.F.C.," which has F-words aplenty. "Foxhole J.C.," cautionary shorthand for "foxhole Jesus Christ," indicates they have a few other things on their mind too, and a few more lightly executed slower numbers add some variety to this unexceptional retro exercise.

    A Complete Rock Album

This is a great CD! It really is a throwback to some of the great classic rock of the 70's, but with a little something extra to make it special, and bring it into the 2000's. Every song is great, with no filler tracks. I think the comparisons to Aerosmith and the Black Crowes are pretty accurate. If you're a fan of either of those bands, or even a casual listener, you will love Silvertide! I can see Lafty and Perri as the new generation's Tyler and Perry of Aerosmith. Lafty has as much charisma as Tyler ever did, and maybe even more, while Perri plays some tremendous solos. The rhythm section of Frank, Weaver, and Melchiorre round out the band and provide the structure for Perri and Lafty to drive from. If you're interested in this band, you definitely have to see them live! They put on the best show I have ever seen, and have never been a disappointment!

I was waiting for something like this...

The first time I heard Silvertide perform I was at a concert for Shinedown. But ever since I saw their live performance (one of the best ever) I was hooked! You can really tell that they love what they are doing and that they don't care if they aren't the "it" thing. Deffinitly a must hear!

umm yeah silvertide is the greastest younger band out there

silvertide is extremely good. All the members are talented and worth giving credit to even though they are so young. They have a classic sound wcombined with constant energy. So people of all age demographics will enjoy listening. Sivertide isnt over-produced either...they just do what they do and will make a mark on the music industry soon. with so many younger bands going for the emo sound or the hype sound, silvertide kkeps it clean, honest, sincere, fun, enjoyable rock and roll. This album is a must have, and would be a great present under the tree for any aspiring musician.

    Silvertide Rocks!

Silvertide is an amazing rock band. Out of all the modern rock bands, Silvertide is the only one that truly captures the spirit of rock n' roll the way it's supposed to be done. If you're looking for real rock n' roll, Show & Tell will not let you down.

    Awsome

This is such an awsome album. It is upbeat and catchy (addicting) I can't stop listening to it . They are like Black Crows and Areosmith had a monster child called Silvertide. It is straight rock and roll.

    Great Album!

This is an awesome CD! These guys really know how to rock! In addition, Silvertide can also pull off the power ballad (Heartstrong). I would definitely suggest that you buy the album and see them live if you get the chance!

    Show & Tell

Show and Tell truly shows the amazing talent and energy of Silvertide. All 11 tracks on the album are amazing, and I've never liked every song on an album before hearing Show and Tell. I can't even pick a favorite song because all of them are amazing!

    new band, classic style

This has got to be the best cd i've heard from a modern band ever. All the new music that's coming out nowadays isn't really that great. But silvertide, with influences like Aerosmith, Lynard Skynnard, and many other classic rock bands, bring back integrity to music. This cd is just rockin' all the way through, even with a ballad or two thrown in. I would definitely reccomend buying this one guys, it will be a classic.

    a rock revival

Im from the UK and heard of silvertide through magazine's and thought i ought to get the album, to try them out. I can honestly say i was blown away, i thought the glory days of classic rock were long gone but this album really does lead me to believe different. silvertide will be huge soon and this album is a perfect start. They are the complete rock package and show and tell is a mix of led zeppelin/ac/dc etc with a modern rock edge. All the songs contain catchy riffs and vocal passages. Standout tracks have to be devils daughter aint coming home and california rain which are all hard rock tracks but also i love the ballad heartstrong.

    Show & Tell

Silvertide definitely does not let it's audience down in their debut album "Show & Tell." They bring back the classic rock sounds that were popular in the late 70's and early 80's, and showcase their talents on the entire album. From the great party anthem "Ain't Comin Home" to the heartfelt "Heartstrong," this CD is a definite must have!!!

Can't wait to see Silvertide live again! I saw them in July w/ Kid Rock in Baton Rouge. I knew then that this band would be a force to be reckoned with!! Love Show & Tell, Love Silvertide!!
