Overview

From NY Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jana DeLeon, the third book in the Ghost-in-Law mystery/romance series:

Family can be the death of you…..

Who killed Helena Henry? The shorter list may be who didn’t want her dead.

Psychic Raissa Bordeaux thought she’d left her former life behind, hidden away in her eclectic shop in the French Quarter. But when a child is kidnapped and Helena Henry appears, Raissa risks her true identity by offering the police help with the case.

New Orleans Detective Zach Blanchard doesn’t believe in psychic hooey and is certain Raissa didn’t get her facts about the case from a crystal ball. He suspects her of something besides being the most intriguing and attractive woman he’s ever come across.

But when Raissa’s secrets put her in danger, can Zach convince her to trust him with the truth before it’s too late?

Meet the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jana DeLeon was raised in southwest Louisiana among the bayous and gators. Her hometown is Carlyss, but you probably won't find it on a map. Her family owned a camp located on a bayou just off the Gulf of Mexico that you could only get there by boat. The most important feature was the rope hammock hanging in the shade on a huge deck that stretched out over the water where Jana spent many hours reading books.

Jana and her brother spent thousands of hours combing the bayous in a flat-bottom aluminum boat, studying the natural habitat of many birds, nutria and alligators. She would like you to know that no animals were injured during these "studies," but they kept makers of peroxide in business.

Jana has never stumbled across a mystery or a ghost like her heroines, but she's still hopeful.

She now resides in Dallas, Texas, with the most spoiled Sheltie in the world.

conclusion of series doesn't let you down.

the last book in the series did not let me down. It still had Helen the dead mother-in-law ghost. This time the action surrounded Raissa the physic from new orleans and Zach the cop who is investigating a kidnapped girl. Raissa tells him its been a pattern for girls kidnapped and returned a week later with no memories except of aliens and to look at like cases in the FBI data base. Zach thinks she either the kidnapper or knows who it is. FBI warn local police away from raissa that they want her. Raissa is already flown her apartment and business and someone tried to push in front of bus, but Helena pulls her back out of the way. Thats the first time she has seen Helena and hears her too. Crime family wants Raissa dead so she wont testify against them. FBI Wants her. Zach finds her and realizes she not a bad guy. they want to find the little girl before someone else gets kidnapped like Hank. You finally find out who murdered Helena and why. Its a fun action pact mystry love story. I enjoyed it quite well.

If you want to laugh, get this series.

I have all three of this series in e-books. I had a hard time putting my Nook down when I had to do something else. They were easy reads, funny, the characters were outstanding. And, of course, there were happy endings. My one hope is that Jana can think of a way to bring back Helena because she was a hoot. I would hate for this series to end here. I am an avid reader, and I believe this series has to be my favorite.

    I recomend this book

This is one of three in a series about the ghost of a woman's mother-in-law (can you imagine being haunted by you'r mother-in law!). The story is well thought out. The characters are interesting and the mystery is compelling.

    Great series!

I just finished reading all 3 books in these series. While some elements are predictable, the characters are loveable and it's fun to try to figure out 'who-dun-it' before the book is over. I recommend starting with the first book of course - but beware, once you read one, you'll want to finish the others!

Great "3rd in the Series" book.

This was another quirky book, full of light humor and enough mystery(twists and turns) to keep it entertaining, from Jana DeLeon. Funny, with lovable characters, it wrapped up some details and revealed answers to questions left from the previous books. If you liked Books 1 and 2, then you will want to read this 3rd in this "Mudbug" series. It was worth the read!

    Clean it up!

I have enjoyed the Fortune series & Mudbug ghost in law series so much thst i was elated to find Showdown in Mudbug. I am so disappointed thet author felt she now had to resort to sex & foul language. Why? i can no longer recommend these books to friends as they eould find them offensive as do I.

    Showdown in Mudbug

Have to say I was a bit disappointed with this third book I don't think it's as good as either book one or two. The ending just seemed rushed after a big build up and was over the top even for a series about a ghost. Having said that I did enjoy the series as a whole It was a cute idea and easy, relaxing read. I will definitely be reading more of her books.

What do you get when you put a "psychic," a police det

What do you get when you put a "psychic," a police detective, and a ghost on a case of kidnapped girls? A really awesome book with all sorts of twists and turns that you never expect until they happen. As the third book of the Ghost-in-law series Jana Deleon out does her other two books with this one. She includes murder, kidnapping, aliens, sick doctors, and of course Helena Henry. "Showdown in Mudbug" is a terrific book about learning to accept your past, trusting the ones that you love, and sometimes having to say goodbye to people that have touched your life in ways you never imagined! Please check out this entire series! I know you will love it as much as I did! You will not be disappointed!
