Live...Laugh...Read...with New York Times-bestselling author Christie Craig....

"Quirky, touching and fun!" -- New York Times Bestselling Author Susan Andersen

Welcome to Precious, Texas, where fistfights serve as dinner theater and fire ants rain from the sky. The locals are usually very friendly, if a bit eccentric. No pictures please, or you may find yourself a guest of the county morgue....

Photojournalist Shala Winters already had her hands full bringing tourism to this backward, podunk town, but her job just got tougher. Pictures can say a thousand words, and one of Shala's is screaming bloody murder. Now she has to entrust a macho, infuriating lawman with her life -- but she'll never trust him with her heart.

Trusted or not, Sky Gomez isn't about to let a killer get his hands on Shala's Nikon -- or any of her more comely assets, for that matter. Her mouth might move faster than a Piney Woods roadrunner, but all he can think about is how good it must taste...and how she'll never escape true love.

BONUS CONTENT:

At the end of the book, get a sneak peek at Christie Craig's newest contemporary romance, BLAME IT ON TEXAS, now available from Forever Books!

Read on for a preview of her recent release, MURDER, MAYHEM AND MAMA, available now in paperback and ebook!

C. Hunter!! BORN AT MIDNIGHT, AWAKE AT DAWN, TAKEN AT DUSK and WHISPERS AT MOONRISE are currently available from St. Martin's Griffin wherever books are sold. Editorial Reviews

Romantic Times - x x
"An exciting, fast-moving story with wonderfully intriguing characters, an interesting mystery, plenty of sexual tension, drool-worthy men and a large dollop of humor. The main characters are great, but it's the secondary ones and their relationships that make this story special. -- 4 1/2 stars"

Very funny at times. Loved the hospital portion with Red and Veronica!

Loved this book, although predictable at times with the comedy, it was very funny. I laughed out loud several times for a few minutes as it went on for a couple of pages. Loved the writing in this book. Keep it up Christie! Please, write faster!

not as good as her other works.

i like mx craig's books (even if the electronic versions are often riddled with mistakes) but this was her weakest effort. Sky Gomez is weirdly contradictory (he's going to stay away, he can't stay away!) that comes off less conflicted and interesting and more like choppy storytelling. Shala Winters is boring mess, she has no personality but for some reason everyone loves her. craig relies way to much on common romance tropes which become repetitive and irritating - how many times can he touch her cheek or lift her chin with two fingers? turns out in this book, too often. secondary plots kept me reading, which is why this is two stars and not one. i hope her next effort is less disappointing.

Sexy, suspense. with unexpected turned. Enough action, twists, and
humor to keep the story moving. Really like the characters and look
forward to more, especially Lucas. She is a new author for me, but I
    will definitely be reading more.

    Only one thing really...

I really liked the idea of the book and i LOVED all the characters. It was so funny at a few points! I laughed evey time Jose screwed his life up even more! Nothing good could ever happen to him!

That leaves two things then. One, i didnt like the mystery. It started off fine. But it didnt progress at a fast enough rate. Two, the book was slightly long. But that again has to do with the slow mystery subplot.

    Other than that: great!

    Great

If I were to say anything negative, it would be only that the ending felt rushed. Poor Jose, getting sprayed by a skunk, bitten by fireants, burned by coffee. Highly entertaining story with characters you cant help but root for.
