Overview

The sequel to 'Strange Reunion' 'Sight Out of Time' picks up the story as Zizi has joined her brother in the Federal Forces and are officers on the Star ship 'Morning Star. They are travelling to Kai, where a Summit is to take place to decide if Kai should be allowed to become a member of the Federation. Zizi and Yret both know she will take any opportunity to escape and make her way back to the Offlands. When her brother discovers that Zizi is risking her life learning to fly Zoriks he sends her down to live in a village on Kai, a simple pastoral planet, where there is technology and no chance of escape. Kai is led by the Sisterhood, women who lead isolated and disciplined lives, they have a mysterious skill which they use rarely but to great effect. When she first arrives Zizi feels isolated and angry, but in time she is drawn into the calm rhythm of life in the village. However, Yret sees claims he has seen her in the University and moves her to the University where he can monitor her. Zizi is distraught and after an unexpected meeting she becomes ever more emotionally fragile. When the Summit takes place, Zizi finds she is central to the outcome, and the choices she has to make push her to the edge of self destruction.
