    Works well

I am using this with a nineteen year old illiterate Guatamalan girl. She was excited to have her own workbook. It really helps reinforce those pesky sight words. And there are four different levels.

Great resource for learning sight words!

I have a four year old who had already begun learning sight words at his preschool, but their process seemed a bit random, so I was looking for a supplemental resource that followed a more structured pattern of learning site words and thank goodness I found this book! The book actually has a process for learning site words. I love the way the book divides the lessons into mini-units (5 words a unit). The lesson activities are engaging as well as challenging. My son really loves them. At the end of each mini-unit, there is also an assessment or review of what was learned to check for mastery.

I will definitely be purchasing the entire series. At the end of the series, your child should know all 220 Dolce site words. We're excited about finally finding something instructionally sound to support our son's learning at home.

Great way to teach sight words

I recently started using this workbook with my daughter. As a former teacher, I can say that I think it is fantastic. I like the font they use and the fact that they have the child practice writing each word. I supplemented this by printing off flash cards and having her review words every day by writing them in a notebook. I also made work sheets combining the words into simple sentences.

The puzzlelike pages are great for early readers and the progression through is series is well done

    just okay, not awesome

The big thing i would change with this book is how it is laid out. There is a tracing page, then an activity page for each sight word. They are not back to back on a single page. It makes it hard to do one word at a time if you are taking the worksheets out of the book. You have to keep track of the backs of pages. It is really inconvenient. Some of the activities seem a little complicated for the age of child they are intended for.

    Very good for beginner reader

Great workbook to solidify the high frequency words for a beginning reader.
My pre-K child is learning a lot and each lesson is the appropriate length for the attention span of that age group.
