Aside from Rachel Acevedo's "Baby Signing Time" video series, this book was the best baby signing resource I've yet come across. It taught me a crucial skill for helping my infant/toddler communicate with me: to get your infant/toddler beginning to sign/communicate with you, emphasize the signs for those things he/she finds most interesting! Signing while playing was the most successful way I found to communicate with my daughter. We started signing in this way when she was 10 months old and by 13 months she knew over 30 different signs. I only used the book as a starting point and added "Baby Signing Time" twice a week or so, and she is so into it, so easy to communicate with now that she can so easily ask for help, for a specific toy or food, or just point out things she finds interesting as we take walks, at the playground, at the grocery store, etc..Was this review helpful?
