The lessons are as helpful as possible with a wide variety of sentences used. Then, when you're done with those, you practice signing the sentences in the lesson. Last, you have fingerspelling practice (the words get bigger the further in the book you go). They also have something called Test Yourself which is to see how far you have gotten. I would recommend this book.

This is a great book to learn everyday words and phrases. I like the way it has the sentences different ways to learn: seeing the signs with the words, seeing the signs without the words, and then just the words to practice the signs.
