The basic story of this book is very good but there is a little to much narrative and the old american english is a little difficult to master when reading. My book club enjoyed the book.

I also had to read this book for a summer pre-I.B. assignment.I started reading it in the beginning of break, staring of course on the first page.I read half of the first chapter and thought that it was sooooo boring.Summer was going by so fast, and was very boring,so i decided to read the book. It started getting interesting when that one dude comes in the house, and when the girl 'suddenly' appears in the house, but that was about the only excitng parts in the book. I don't recommend this book, unless it's school oriented.
