All Music Guide - Andy Hinds
Sonata Arctica's Silence basically sounds like Europe with the chops of Dream Theater. The record has all the glossy, non-threatening professionalism of '80s-style, pop-based prog metal: soaring, multi-tracked vocals, virtuosic instrumental passages, and clean, airbrushed production polish. Fans of the genre will appreciate Sonata Arctica's commitment to the style. [Universal's 2008 Irish edition included three bonus tracks.]

    One of Sonata Arctica's best!

This is one of my favorite Sonata Arctica albums! I first got into them listening to Reckoning Night, and decided to seek out past recordings. This is one of the few that I enjoy every single track on (not that I don't like all of the tracks on the others, but there are a few "skip ahead" tracks when I'm short on time). This one is a winner, for sure! So, if you are looking for some new symphonic/speed metal to add to your collection, I totally recommend this one!
