I found this book at a used book table at a benefit sale. It is an enertaining read told from the view of a stray cat. Speaking as the owner of a kitten found along the roadside, I noticed similarities in her tactics. Gallico was an old-fashioned 1950s-60s writer but the throwback to the era of typewrites etc. only adds to the book's charm. The B&W photos are a plus. In short, worth tracking down for collectors of cat lit.
This book is wonderful! The photographs are charming! Every cat person will recognize their cat in the pictures. Pity the hardcover is out of print. Give this book to all cat lovers and see my recommended other cat titles.
I read this book many years ago and absolutely loved it. I am a vet assistant and have the 'pleasure' of working with cats every day. One of my coworkers is leaving (to work exclusively with cats) and this is the perfect book for her. Of course I ordered 2 copies- one for me too!
The book very accurately describes the relationship between cats and people in a very humorous way. A GREAT BOOK FOR ANY CAT LOVER!!!
