If you love mysteries, or you love dogs then this is the book for you. I am a big dog lover. This book shows you the good side and the very fun side of having dogs. There is also sadness in the mystery. It shows the bad part of life. This book is definitely good

This is a really easy read. It is a look into the wonderful people that rescue dogs and secure forever homes for them. It is also a story of a sad little girl that learns about love. You will be glad you read this. It is my first book by this author and her series. I'll be sure to read more.

Raine Stockton is not having a great holiday season. She needs an infusion of cash to complete he business quarters for training and kenneling dogs. Someone drops a box of hybrid puppies near her mailbox, and her Search and Rescue dog finds a newborn baby by the town nativity scene. How can things get better? or worse? Apparently this is part of a series--so dog lovers--check it out.

I bought this book because it sounded interesting & was in the season. Iy is actually the 7 th in the series, I loved it! Donna Ball is a dog trainer & she shares tips in her book as part of the story. She is a strong woman who is three demensional & so AREthe people in her life. I tend not to read many series because the authors use the same info over & over just as filler. This book was easy to read even mid series & going back to start with All That Glitters & I am in the middle of the second. She incorporates the info in a way that is quick & not drawn out. In fact my only complaint is the books go so fast I wish they were longer. And her love of her dogs & the Smokey Mountains is so beautiful, you wish you were there. To top off a good story, there is much humor as well & parts were very sad. Perfectly lovely series. I will be looking for more of her books!

This is the first Donna Ball Raine Stockton Dog Mystery that I've read, but it definitely won't be the last one for me.  I chose it because of the Christmas theme, even though it was the fifth one in this series. Thankfully, though I mostly like to read books in their numerical order, I felt like I wasn't missing anything about the main characters.  Raine Stockton has her hands full with her Search & Rescue Dogs.  Her training and grooming center is being remodeled but her funds have run dry.  It's the Christmas season and her dogs are going to be in the Christmas parade with a whole host of other pageant animals.  When they go to set up the manger scene, the baby Jesus is missing.  Seems there's been a rash of missing Baby Jesus dolls all over town. Also, seems that most of her friends are going somewhere else for Christmas dinner this year, including her ex-husband who's the town sheriff.  Raine's new rich, divorced, boyfriend comes to town for a couple of days, with a young daughter in toe.  Raine didn't even know he had a child, and is not overly enthusiastic when she gets baby sitting duties.  Being involved in finding a murderer, an abandoned baby, and re-homing three abandoned puppies was definitely not on her to do list with a spoiled girl to care for.   This was definitely a fun book with creative mysteries. Dog lovers won't want to miss the antics of all the different Golden Retrievers that populate this series either. Lovely Christmas story with heart and playfulness of the season too.
