Jessica Porter finds herself in southern Arizona on the Cameron’s Bar C Ranch ready to photograph the ranch and the oldest Cameron’s wedding. When Jessie meets Zane Cameron, she finds herself wishing the tall, dark, and gorgeous cowboy was free.

Lately, Zane has had the feeling that things aren’t as they seem with his fiancée. When she shows her true colors, he calls off the wedding.

Zane feels it’s too soon to fall for another woman, but when he meets Jessie, he just can’t get enough of being around her. It’s not long before the pair gets together and it grows hotter between them than an Arizona summer.

But Zane’s ex-fiancée threatens Jessie and everything takes a dangerous turn…and Zane could lose her forever.

Meet the Author

Cheyenne McCray is an award winning, New York Times and USA Today Best Selling author who is a rare native Arizonan but refuses to be put behind glass as an endangered species.

In her spare time she loves to torture characters, whether they’re misbehaving or not, and kill off deserving individuals. She also totally gets off on blowing things up. All fictionally, of course. She’d rather chew glass than write sweet and sugary. Give her a hideous demon or particularly nasty villain to slay any day.

Cheyenne enjoys creating stories of love, suspense, and redemption...in some cases. She enjoys building worlds her readers can get lost in. Hopefully they’ll find their way out, but stranger things have been known to happen.

If you would like to find out what odd and unusual things Cheyenne is up to these days, cruise her website any time, take a look at the bizarrely normal yet strange FAQs, and even drop her a line or two. Just not too hard. Those things hurt. CheyenneMcCray.com

This is not a cliffhanger. The author was ablt to write a complete story, with defined characters, and a premise for other stories. It was a romance with a dash of horror and mystery. I enjoyed it and I recommend it to others.

I have read a few other Cheyenne McCray books so when this came available as a FREE selection, I jumped on it! And am glad I did. Zane and Jessie had such chemistry it just sizzled my nook; Phoebe was such a beyooch you hust wanted to slap her every time she opened her mouth. I think everyone has met a Phoebe at one time or another. My only complaints with this book are that it was not longer and it could use some better editing. In some places it was obvious that the author intended to re-write a sentence but did not completely delete the previous sentence. But not too terribly bad. Or that could just be my inner editor squawking. Overall, this was a terrific read and I will most definitely be getting the rest in the series. Really want to read about Wyatt! Recommend to anyone who likes Arizona, alpha cowboys and the smart and sassy women who love them! Diane in JAX

Silk and Spurs by Cheyenne McCray is a fantastic read. Ms McCray has delivered a well written book. Jessie and Zane's story is loaded with amazing, lovable characters and drama. There is also plenty of action, sizzle and humor to keep you glued to this fabulous book. I enjoyed reading Silk and Spurs and look forward to my next book by Cheyenne McCray. Silk and Spurs is book 1 of the Rough and Ready series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Had a few good steamy parts but otherwise too short and very rushed. This could have been a great story but sadly. ... no... Ok for free quick read....

Jessie is a photographer hired to take pictures of the huge ranch owned by Zane Cameron. Zane is getting married to Phoebe in a few months. That's a fact he keeps reminding himself as he finds Jessie extremely attractive .. inside and out. Jessie is immediately attracted to Zane but keeps her distance. Her last boyfriend cheated on her and she isn't about to become the 'other woman' in any relationship. When Phoebe starts showing her real colors ... those ugly things like acting like a fishwife ... kissing another man no one knows about except Jessie... when she berates the ranch hands when they don't show her enough respect...Zane calls the wedding off, leaving Phoebe one mad woman. Jessie and Zane act on their mutual attraction and all seems headed for a happy ending. But wait ... we haven't got to the part where Jessie's life hangs in the balance. If you've read any of Cheyenne's books and enjoyed them you will love this one. If you haven't and this will be your first one, it's a great read and a great place to start. It's a short, really intense love/mystery story (with some really graphic intimate moments). My thanks to the author who provided a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Jessie is a photographer that has been hired by Zane Cameron to photograph his and his future wife (Phoebe) ranch's. When Jessie meets a sexy cowboy that is just too yummy it figures it would be the groom. Just her luck. Zane instantly falls for the red head photographer, but he is a faithful man and tries to do all he can to stay away from Jessie. After Zane shows Jessie some places for great photos, and a wardrobe malfunction, Phoebe shows her true colors. To find out what happens you will have to read the book. There is sex, murder, and drama. What more could you ask for in a book?
