Unwrap a little holiday wickedness…

Whispering Cove, Book 8

The pleasures of Christmas. Love. The two things Jon Wilson doesn’t think he deserves, thanks to a holiday accident that took his parents. Under pressure from his uncle, Jon returns to Whispering Cove for the annual festivities, but he’s counting down the hours until he can hop a Christmas Eve plane back to his Miami medical practice.

Chef Lila Sheppard left the big city and its fast-talking men for Whispering Cove, hoping to settle down with a nice, small-town boy. Until Mr. Picket Fence appears, though, she’s not opposed to a tango on the wild side. When Jon shows up—gorgeous, hot and temporary—she figures Santa delivered her Christmas present a few days early.

Soon they’re heating up cold, wintry nights, but as they get lost in each other’s arms, Lila begins to realize their brief affair has become something more. Yet she wonders if there’s enough magic in Whispering Cove to show Jon that love can heal all hearts…and that there’s only one place he belongs.

Warning: Contains enough passion to melt ice, and turn any blustery wintry night into a hot, sultry holiday.

An Ornery old Uncle, a nephew who thinks the whole town hates him for something that was never his fault and a feisty lady who is running his family's old B and B. She may have no clue who he is, but that doesn't stop an amazing tale from unfolding. What started as a bunch of old men causing mischief ends in on of them being Santa for 2 people who really need a boost of Christmas Spirit. Letting go and having fun is just what the Dr. needed in his trip back home..that an finding out that home really is where his heart is.. now if he can just get old Uncle Errol to talk to him...

Love this story! It wasn't overly short and made me both laugh and cry. A really nice Christmas Romance book.

If you are searching for a fresh holiday romance that combines the perfect balance of heat, goodness and emotion, look no further than Silk (Whispering Cove) by Cathryn Fox. This is a well-written novella that was so good I could not put it down. Whispering Cove, Maine, is the perfect place to fall in love and enjoy the flavors of the holiday season.

Successful physician Jon Wilson is a small town boy living and working in the city of Miami. He returns to his hometown of Whispering Cove at the request of his great uncle Errol, but when he arrives, his uncle has no time for him. Errol and his two cronies are the town busybodies and spend a great deal of time scheming and meddling in other people's lives. This time Jon is their victim. Errol loves Jon very much and wants him to be happy and return to Whispering Cove forever. But first Errol has to find a way for Jon to forgive himself for a senseless tragedy that occurred years ago.

Chef and Bed and Breakfast manager Lila Sheppard relocated to Whispering Cove when her life in Chicago became overwhelming and overbearing. She loves her new life and being a part of a small town. Lila is a woman that goes after what she wants and when Jon shows up on her doorstep, she realizes that he is what she needs to complete her life.

Jon and Lila have instant chemistry and within a day or two are experiencing the best sex of their lives. As they begin to learn about each other, their lust evolves into much, much more. Between Errol's meddling and the magic of the holiday season, Jon and Lila are destined to be together.

I loved this story! All the characters are well defined and likeable. Ms. Fox is a master at creating sexual tension, so when Jon and Lila finally got together, I was chomping at the bit. Silk is a sexy, emotional novella that is a must read.

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I love Whispering Cove! the combination of sweet and sexy in this book is fantastic! My heart was breaking for Jon but Lila was strong and amazing and helped him see how he could have what he wanted all along. I hope he apologized to Errol so Errol doesn't lose the rum bet...LOL

When three old friends, Errol Wilson, Harold Adair, and Byron are told to leave Hauk, their favorite bar due to the incoming inclement weather. The three reconvene at Errol's home to play some cards and discuss the need to have the younger generations involvement in their lives. With the help of the alcohol they have consumed and frustration with life's problems, they decide to give their individual problems someone else to worry about. Silk is the story of Jon Carver, Errol's great-nephew Who has resisted returning to Whispering Cove due to a sense of guilt over the death of his parents, and Leah Shepherd, who runs the Sleepy Cove B&B.

Errol lures Jon back with the vague notion that something is wrong and needs him. Upon arriving he then tells Jon he can not stay with him as he has a termite infestation and will be staying with a lady friend and that Jon's Aunt and Uncle are having marital problems and can not keep him either. As his cousin Katy and her husband have a new baby their place is not an option either. Jon heads over to the B&B and meets Leah. The same Leah that has been trying to convince Errol to sell her the B&B, not knowing the B&B actually owns the B&B and has been after his uncle to sell the place for years.

Sparks fly, but are they only due to sexual attraction? Could something deeper be taking hold between the two? Silk is the eighth book in the long running Whispering Cove series by three very talented authors, Catheryn Fox, McKenzie McKade and Nikki Duncan. While Silk is one of a series it can be read as a stand alone. Although i admit I will be reading Book 7 Stockings and Book 9 Serenades to see how Byron and Harold do for their part of the bet. After all the winner gets 2 bottles of their favorite rum.
