This story will make you laugh and cry. The characters are wonderfully alive and I couldn’t put the book down until I knew what had happened to each of them. I would highly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys a good historical.

I really am enjoying this series. I love that its a different story with familiar characters. What I mean is the story of Nick and Sarah is mostly contained to the first book, where we first meet Christopher. This story focuses on Christopher and Abby, though Nick and Sarah, as well as many other people from the first book do make appearances and we get updates on their stories. I really never thought I'd enjoy a "historical" romance. Chris and Abby's story is beautiful. It honestly made me smile a lot. I found the authors writing easily transported me to the story, which I love. The author does not get overly detailed in descriptions leaves much of the setting and characters to your imagination, which I also love. I can't wait to read book 3!!

The plot twists were fascinating and the historical detail very authentic. Hope to see more from Ms. Kirkland...soon!

I enjoyed this book. I think I liked the first one better and that one was free with over 600 pages. This one was almost 300 pgs and I had to pay for it but I did like it. This story revolves around a battered child who gets sold to a man who beat her and then he died. The right man comes along and falls in love with her but has to deal with her past.

This is book two of the series. It just has the wrong description.

Ms. Kirkland writes an exciting, well crafted story set in Colonial Williamsbury. Her books are always keepers and this one will be too. Jan Cooper

I loved how this book continued with the characters from Bewitching Kisses yet it was still Christopher's story. Hope the author will continue with these characters. Loved the way the author had characters change and grow with the story.

Books like this are the reason I started reading romance in the first place. Written by a pro, it takes you into another world and gets you so wrapped up in the story, you can forget your own deadlines and run away for a while.

So suspenseful that, as I neared the end of the book, I thought it was heading into a clifhanger; but Ms Kirkland wrapped up the story with unexpected revelations!

I found this author when getting the first book in the series, Bewitching Kisses, which was free. Smart author, because then I was hooked with her books. I loved that some of the character's from book one, crossover to this story. I am so glad I didn't live in the 17th Century. To think CHILDREN were forced to marry someone old enough to be their grandfather. I usually read Highland or Regency Romance, but loved how the author wrote about this time period. I also, bought the next book Falcon Curse. I can only hope Chris's sister finally gets what is coming to her -what a WITCH! Loved the twists in this story too. Has lovemaking which wasn't erotic type. (Ljb)

I had to contact customer service because even though the title and cover are different, the text is the same as the first book (Bewitching Kisses). They said they would have their content team look into it, and they gave me my money back. I don't know if they'll let me know when it is straightened out, but I'm afraid to buy it again. The description last time was different, but turned out to be the same as the first one. Disappointing. The first book was very good, and I was looking forward to seeing what happens with Christopher. I think I'll wait a while and look at the reviews for a while until I see folks posting that it was Christopher's story.

Confused and disappointed paid 2.99 for Chris s story and got the same story as the first book
