So, I love books on mythology. Gods, goddesses, demi-gods? Count me in. This book has everything. It can feel a little slow at times, probably because youre constantly jumping to new conclusions on the ending and then cant wait to get through it to find out if you were right. But anyways, I am completely in love with the characters. Reading about this magical, fairy-tale love is surely going to ruin my perfectly imperfect relationship. Lol good readings to ya!

CHAPTER TWO
Princess Kira awoke in a damp musty storage room. Her legs were jello. When she finallly stood up she stumbled around looking for a lantern and a door. Kira found the lantern and matches, but not the door. lt refused to light the first six tries and lighted the seventh. Kira swung the lamp around in a wide arc. She found pitchers, sacks, food hanging from a ceiling, and a table. "A table?! What is it doing in here?" Kira exclaimed. Then Kira walked around the perimeter looking for a door. She found one and pounded on it for several minutes but no one answered. After what seemed like hours (for it was.) The door swung open and a nice warm rush of salty air came in and hit her.

This book was really promising. I mean the first couple of chapters were great! But then it really went down hill from there. It's sort of like she wrote the first part for like a contest then she rushed the rest. I was really disappointed because it really was a great story line and idea.

If you are tried of love stories about vampire and werewolves, this is the book. I love the Irish mythology as the base of the story. Charcters are powerfull and funny. I love the two main charters (Bri and Blake) as they try to find each other and if what they have is real love or because of a powerfull magical bond. The fighting scenes could be more dramtic and clever, but over all this was a great book. The sexual content is more towards older youth and college age.

Okay, so let me just start this review by saying that this book was a bit odd. The writing felt a bit stilted, and author just dived straight into the story with very little world building, characterisation or anything! If this summary sounds a bit odd, I’m afraid that’s how the story came across!
16-year-old Brianna is at a party with her best friend Haley. Everybody notices Haley, but nobody notices Brianna, their gaze just slides past her.
The catch on Brianna’s bracelet breaks, and then she sees spots and a flash of silver, and suddenly Blake, a boy who has never spoken to her sees her and speaks to her.
Brianna hopes that maybe this will be the start of something good, but the next time Blake sees her he doesn’t look at her again, although he does ask her friend for her phone number.
The next time they meet, they have a disastrous first date, but then Blake asks for something unexpected, he asks her to remove her bracelet. Once Brianna eventually gives in, he is able to look at her properly, and the next thing they know they’re waking up naked next to each other! Seriously!
Blake drops her off at home, but she gets stomach ache, which seems to get worse the further she is from Blake, and the longer she is away from him.
The next time Brianna sees Blake he accuses her of being a seventh generation daughter, descended from this goddess, and tells her that her bracelet is a charm that hides her from view. He says that she is a ‘Bania’, and that she has cast some sort of soul-binding magic on him, and joined them together. He is seriously hacked off over this, and tells her that she has to find a way to break the spell.
Two girls from school who also claim to be Bania, then retell the fairy tale, only this time it ends with demigods hunting down and killing the descendants of the goddess. Oh, and of course the three boys that have been treating Brianna like dirt? They’re the demi-god’s descendants.
In summary – Brianna is totally clueless to the fact that she is some kind of goddess’ descendent, and all the men in this book treat women like crap.
I found this book quite difficult to read. It just struck me as odd, the storyline, the way there wasn’t any introduction to the characters, the way Brianna had no clue what was going on, or what she was, or anything at all really.
At 50% in I really wasn’t sure that I could bring myself to finish this book, I actually had to turn it off and read something else then come back to it. Thankfully a little break meant that the second half of the book wasn’t quite so bad, but it still wasn’t good.
The blurb for this book talks about Brianna ‘binding her soul to Blakes’. There was some kind of soul-binding going on in this book but it’s seriously unlike soul-binding in other books. For a start the last thing you want your ‘soul-mate’ to say is – ‘take this spell off me’, or ‘I cannot get far enough away from you’, or ‘you’re ruining my life!’, or ‘I wish I hadn’t saved your life’ (not direct quotes but you get the gist.)
Overall; this book was just odd. It just felt wrong and disjointed, and at several points I didn’t even want to keep reading. The characters were whiney, and rude, and nasty, and the way that the men treated the women was awful too. I would also suggest that this book is not for younger teens due to the sexual content.

I I love Celtic lore and anything having to do with their legends. That's where my beloved fairies come from and I love the ancient traditions of the Celts though I am no expert in them by any means. Not many books have ventured into this subject area so it's a bit hard to follow sometimes when you aren't familiar with the lore. Even though I've read some of the old legends, I didn't know Danu or Killian so I found myself foundering a bit as I read the beginning of the book. I was completely lost and disappointed. When I finally got to what I'll call "the beach scene" I was about to give up entirely. Then I decided to start over.
When I started over, I read slower, taking time to understand what Brianna was saying and thinking, what actually happened in the silvery flash moments, what her friends were like, I really read slow because this all seemed brand new to me. As I read the second time, everything clicked and by the time I got to "the beach scene" I understood what was happening. So I caution you to read slowly and really understand what is real and not real in Brianna's words. I thought she loved Blake, but how do you love someone you've only worshiped from afar? And I thought when their souls were bound that they would love each other, but love didn't seem to factor into that. Love is separate from the soul. And that secret that Blake has, yeah, it's a killer!
I really did enjoy this story. I thought it meandered a little bit at first and I was a bit shocked at a couple of the scenes in the beginning, this is definitely for MATURE YA readers. Christy, one of Brianna's best friends is a girl that has a "jerk radar" as Brianna says, only she uses it the wrong way, falling for the jerks instead of turning away. Haley, Brianna's other best friend, is a guy magnet attracting any guy she wants dating them a little while and dumping them for the next guy. Brianna though has been invisible to guys until her charm bracelet falls off and Blake finally sees her.
The story behind their possibly not being able to be together is much bigger than some Romeo and Juliet kind of thing. It goes back thousands of years. And the two go back and forth between trusting and not trusting each other. Blake says things that Brianna doesn't understand and is hurt. Brianna lashes back and you don't know if they really have feelings for each other or its the bond or both. I thought, from the synopsis this was going to be a boy and girl in love against all odds fighting against someone or something but that's what I get for believing the synopsis. But these two fight against having feelings for each other which was especially hard on Brianna's part as she'd watched Blake from the sidelines for so long. But the urge to fight was stronger.
The role the fates have destined her to play is not one any of would choose, I think and its one of those recurring ones that's been played out through time, kill or be killed. But Brianna is different and she wants to choose a different path for herself and she is determined to find a different way to live her life. The end of the book is nicely concluded but there is much more to come and I can't wait to see how the story turns out. I know there will be a lot of trials ahead for Brianna and Blake. I just hope their love becomes something more solid than it seemed to be in this first novel. And I'm sure there will be quite a few battles to be fought in the coming books, whether it be of wills or physically.

Brianna is invisible. People, mostly guys, never notice or see her. Until one night at a party her favorite bracelet breaks off and the boy she has been watching for awhile looks up and sees her. This is just the beginning of a complicated romance between Brianna and Blake. Brianna soon learns some truths about herself that her grandmother knew, that she is a part of a mythological family.
Over all I really liked Silver. There were some slow, sluggish parts to it but once you got past that then the story was great and the characters are intriguing! I love the way the mythology and romance was blended together. I would recommend Silver to older YA readers as I feel they would enjoy this book better than young YA readers.

I love it when I read a book that I don't feel is the same as everything
I have read before. The use of the Irish myth of the Danu was great.
Something I had never heard of and it definitely gave the story a unique
spin. I really liked Brie personality and the things she would
"think" made me laugh. Then of course you had the guys in the
story who were utterly confusing at times but so Sexy in their
mysteriousness! I'm not going to lie, there were parts in this story
that I was either really confused or I found it very predictable. From
one extreme to the other. But that being said, I dont feel like either
of those things took away from the overall story. Fair warning, it
will be hard to put this book down because you will be so curious to see
how everything is going to unfold. And you will not be disappointed.
