Very easy to read. This book was written for a junior high school age group. This is a must read for those who want to know more about the young woodsman/frontiersman that saved Daniel Boone's life. In this book there is also a lot of history about how the settlers lived and survived while the young Colony was declaring it's independence from the Crown. The English officials in Detroit were paying a bounty for the scalps of the settlers to keep them from building forts and settlements on the frontier. Simon Kenton played a key role in scouting for hostile Shawnee and other Native Tribes. The Indians were fighting a war of terror for their precious hunting grounds in Kentucky. A virtual Eden.
