    Simple method to knit socks

I've had this book for years and have used it to knit many different socks. The formulas for calculating the number of stitches, etc. are easy to use and while the heel instructions are detailed, they are not difficult. The result is a sock with a smooth heel that looks like a store-bought sock. The author's extensive research is evident in the variety of techniques shown. Also includes instructions on how to transfer the sock technique to make mittens.

    Great reference source

At first glance, because of the lack of photos, I almost disregarded this book. Glad I didn't! It is a great reference source to have in the personal library. It is full of information that explains more of the "why we do it this way" questions than any other sock knitting book I have. It's not a book of just 'this and that' directions, it's an explanation book that stirs up clear, logical thinking skills. I knit socks on 1 large circular needle but it is very easy to adapt the principles Priscilla expounds for the 5 dpns, to the circular.
