Library Journal
Eaton (MinnowKnits) is a prolific knitwear designer known for her children's garment designs and for those little extra touches and embellishments that make a project shine. In Eaton's fifth book of knitwear designs, she branches out from her customary children's knitwear patterns to create an eclectic collection of mostly small projects for children, teens, and adults. This book includes step-by-step directions for knitting 20 different designs, most with bulky yarns that make the projects truly "super quick." Among the designs are a felted pillbox hat adorned with felt appliqu s, buttons, and an i-cord border and a smashing cashmere funnel-neck sweater with set-in sleeves. Eaton believes that "many very simple garments are made extraordinary with small, interesting details," and this book bears her out. The only drawback is the narrow range of sizes included for some of the sweaters. Recommended for public library knitting collections. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
